I absolutely love the new market: organic fruit and veg, the chinese cake shop and a load of other really cool places to buy things... what's not to like?

The rent is clearly prohibitively expensive. You can see something's amiss by all the massive number of empty stalls. Empty stalls are a very bad thing for a market: you'd think they'd be crying out for stallholders to set up there. I don't know the rents, but I know it's the other charges that are massive.

There wasn't any actual cupcake stall this time, but a few lovely cake stalls! The whole event is fantastic. I just don't get why ANYONE would complain about it. We need more of these things, not fewer.

There were two Asian stalls and a decent turnout for all communities.

Well I absolutely love it! There are pies there that are just delicious and again, people have entirely forgotten what real food costs to make (ie stuff that isn't made in the thousands for Tesco or M&S). I just wish more people would support local industry rather than badmouthing the prices.

So will it be evenings? I'll go see if there are any private rooms at the pubs on Woodseats. Will report back later today.

Hallam Towers would be amazing, but it's had the bottom two floors removed due to vagrants and people living there. It's now incredibly dangerous!

Does anyone know of any abandoned buildings in Sheffield that we could hire for events. Looked at a few, but they're not safe enough. I know Bannerdale School is up for demolishing but not sure when...

If they wanted to ban porn, they just need a dedicated team with people who have powers to block all websites from all UK ISPs. Give it a few months and all those sites and images would be blocked. They did it with the torrent sites.

The event was unfortunately cancelled due to issues with the site, which have now been rectified. So it should be undead business as usual from this point on.

I just like help promoting new events in Sheffield (which is why I've been posting about all the new delicious coffee shops popping up) Edit Edit: I've no knowledge of this cancellation, but I will find out for you. A last-minute cancellation like this is just hideous...

There's always Tea With Percie not five minutes walk away on Abbeydale Road. Or Jamesons Tea Rooms (a little further down) Or even Steel City Cakes. Sheffield Forum is a massive resource for businesses and I really shake my head at companies who don't use it to the fullest - even if it's just to let people know you exist, that should be the absolute minimum you're doing on here. At best, you can use it to promote events, give discounts and generally show people you mean business. Really I cannot state this enough!

It occurred to me the other day that if you took a group of people and hid them away from society that they would invariably develop their own religion over time - and that religion would have nothing to do with Christianity (or any earthly religion). But again, isn't it a huge plot hole from God that this group would never - ever - have any chance to learn about his religion - so unless he'd be planning to send down some angels - they'd never know the truth.

I agree! I thought it was supposed to be Asian fusion. If I'd wanted to go Italian I'd have gone to an Italian.

You're not joking! The Italian was just dire! Salty, rubbery, tosh!

OOh I need to add I only go for the sushi... Which is actually not awful. But I'd only ever really recommend ChaoBaby in Sheffield.

It is truly disgraceful, but another really outrageous injustice which will go unpunished.
