I beg to differ - I sampled a few pints on a Saturday afternoon the other week and turned round and I could have been in the West with all the faces that were in there! I think you'll find this is all about a good early bar to kick the weekend off, a few friends, a good laugh and a decent bit of snap. People like you will moan that all the pubs in Eckington are closing and do you know why? - because nobody goes in them anymore - businesses need advertising and promotion to survive and the reward should be custom, if a business does not trade it will fail. I think that everyone that has any negative thoughts should forget Morrisons cheap beer and get out and socialise for a few and support local business - you will be sorry when it has all gone!

Does anyone know what happened to Tommy the shellfish man? He used to trawl the south Sheffield pubs selling his prawns etc? I can remember seeing him in the Millhouses, The Big Tree, The Woodstock Exchange and others. This must have been late eighties / early nineties?

My daughter once scribbled on my cream leather sofa with a felt tip pen and I got it out with nail varnish remover on a cotton wool bud and dab very gently. Do not rub as it may strip the leather off. Failing that try your insurance company if you are covered for accidental damage! Good luck
