  1. I had a lot of private work done at PSB Dental Care near the Peace Gardens and they were fabulous - and I'm a terribly nervous patient! I don't know whether private work affects your NHS place as I wasn't NHS registered at the time, but the staff there are really helpful and I'm sure would answer your questions if you give them a call: 0114 272 2726
  2. Would a double duvet and four pillows (all synthetic filled) be any good to any local shelter?
  3. I'm glad you did start this thread - I've thrown hundreds of empty boxes in the recycling without ever thinking to check if you can donate those tokens. I'll be saving them up and sending them off to Cats Protection League from now on
  4. Caroline Aherne (Our Denise from The Royle Family) as Mrs Merton perhaps...?
  5. I had a SatNav which I found really helpful because I'm a girl and I'm useless at reading maps, but the one I got (some RAC model that cost £80 from Argos) had to be replaced 3 times, and when the 4th one they gave me stopped working I asked for my money back. So I would like to buy a new one, and I'd probably go for one of the mid range (£100 - £150) TomToms that seem to have good reviews on The Gadget Show's website. But I could also do with a new phone as mine is starting to show faults. Can't blame it really I've had it over 4 years and it's been very reliable (Nokia N95 8GB). I'm currently on the simplest tariff and pay just £10 a month to receive loads of free texts and minutes that I hardly use. I've seen a deal for £21.50 for a Nokia Lumia 800 that includes the usual texts and minutes, but also includes 500mb of data usage, and the phone itself has "voice guided navigation." I know my current phone has some kind of maps thingy, but I've never used it as I don't want to connect to the internet on my current tarrif and risk a massive bill. So I looking for some advice on the following points: Does anyone have the Lumia 800 and is the navigation thing the same as a SatNav? Does it need to be connected to the internet whilst it's navigating and does that use a lot of the data allowance? Should I just stick with my current cheap tarrif and slow but functioning handset and spend my money on a TomTom instead? I'm not one of these types who's permanatly got their phone glued to their hand and I don't want to waste my money on tech I don't need (and to be honest wouldn't have much of an idea how to use). Thoughts and advice would be appreciated
  6. He's home!!!! Thanks to my vigilant neighbours and a quick trip home from work during lunch Benji is now safely home and asleep on my bed. He no longer has a distinctive blue collar! He's limping a bit but I've given him a good prod and poke and he's not cried out in pain so I don't think anything's broken, but he is definitely feeling sorry for himself so I'm going to let him have a few days of R&R and if he's no better I'll take him to the vets for a check up. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read and respond to my post. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have my best friend home safely with me.
  7. I have added some public pictures of Benji on facebook: http://facebook.com/BenjiMonster
  8. Thanks Emmalavill I've called about that one and it doesn't sound like Benj as the cat found isn't neutered and doesn't look as if it's ever had a collar. Thanks to everyone for your help. I just hope he either makes his own way home or someone finds him. He has never been missing before.
  9. Benji has been missing for over 24 hours now and I'm going out of my mind with worry. I have checked with the council and they haven't had to collect any cats from the roads or anything so I'm still hopeful he's out there, maybe locked in someone's shed or something. I'll be papering the neighbourhood with leaflets if he isn't home by the time I finish work tonight. I've let my vets know, and I've put him on the RSPCA lost and found board and registered with AnimalSearchUK. I'll be ringing round local vets during the day. If anyone is in the area (particularly around Duke Street / Bernard Street) and sees anything of him please pease get in touch. Even if it's bad news, I just need to know where he is. Thanks
  10. I haven't seen my cat Benji since I let him out at 8 this morning - he's only usually out for an hour or two at most. He's all black, has a small tear in his left ear, and was wearing a distinctive bright blue collar with white skull and crossbone pattern. He is quite friendly but may be nervous if he's out of his local area. He is neutered and micro chipped. I have been out searching for the last two hours but no sign of him. I am very worried as he has never been out for this long in the two years we have lived in this area.
  11. My cat loves to sit by my fish tank when I'm feeding my fish and he always tries to snaffle a flake or two from the water surface before my fish has had the chance. As he seems so interested in the food (and I'd rather he didn't take an interest in eating my fish!) I've given in to him and let him lick the odd flake from my finger, but I don't want to give him anything that might be dangerous for him. I feed my fish with quality 'Aquarian' feed, and judging by the ingredients listing it's just fish and animal derivates. Is it a safe treat for my cat or do I have to be strict with him?
  12. I have an old double duvet and four pillows going spare - will they be any good for the dogs?
  13. I bought a sat nav that said it was excluded from the 30 day money back guarantee, but I had to take it back because it stopped working after 3 weeks - they exchanged it with no fuss but they did ask if I'd prefer a refund. for Argos (not something I ever thought I'd say)
  14. I've purchased my postage online for an item I've sold on eBay, but once I've paid for and printed it I've realised I've put the completely wrong address in. Does anyone know if I can just stick a label over the wrong address field and still send it, or does it have to be sent to the address that I input when purchasing the postage? As it's an eBay item and I don't want to risk my feedback I'm going to just request a refund for the one I've done wrong and purchase a new postage label with the correct address, but it'd be interesting to know for future mistakes! I would ring the helpline but it shuts at 5.30.
  15. Try Emmaus - they sell all sorts of stuff for charity. I doubt they'd buy it from you though, I think they rely on donations. Website: http://www.emmaus.org.uk/sheffield
