  2. Fancy trying your hand at playing American Football? The Doncaster Mustangs are looking for you. The Mustangs coaching staff have announced that on Sunday, 11th November, will be the Combine day for new and existing players. Taking place at Balby Carr Community Sports College with indoor and outdoor facilities utilised, the Combine is the beginning of team preparations for the 2008 season. Assistant Head Coach Lee Durman, who also serves as Defensive co-ordinator, is enthusiastic about the day. “American football is advancing quickly in this country and while we are an amateur club we feel that we need a professional approach to achieve a successful future. The combine day will involve player skills and fitness assessments, including key core-stability work. As a pre-cursor to 2008 season, players being sent into the off-season with position specific training plans”. Head Coach and Offensive co-ordinator, Andy Patel added “By the time we start the pre-season, players will be expected to be in shape with a good knowledge of the systems that we intend to employ. We can then maximise the available time on practicing skills and execution rather than the usual cycle of using up valuable time getting players fit enough to play the game”. The two coaches are looking to add to a solid roster core and invite anyone with interest to attend the event. The day will start with registration at 9.45am before activities commence at 10.15am. The day will conclude around 3pm after a controlled kitted scrimmage. New players need suitable training clothing to work indoors and outdoors on an artificial turf surface. Appropriate footwear and packed lunch/drinks are essential, as is a notebook and pen. Existing players should be similarly equipped but also bring all available kit with them. Full changing room and shower facilities are available at the site. The combine date would be an ideal opportunity for people not necessarily wishing to play but who would like to be involved off the field in the vibrant organization. Come down on the 13th and see if the Doncaster Mustangs fit you, you won't be disappointed. Visit doncastermustangs.org for more details and information about the Mustangs. Please don't be shy, any questions or interest would be greatly appreciated and replied to. Lee Durman Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Co-ordinator
