My husband and son saw it too. From Apperknowle at approx 4.15pm. Came home full of it..said it moved very quickly. Just showed them the pics and agree this is what they saw..

left a wing feather behind when she took the blackbird, definitely a Sparrowhawk. lots of buzzards in this area too. 3 circling last weekend, most we have seen is nine at once, that was last year over farmland near Charnock

Female sparrowhawk, took a magpie off our garden Monday, had a blackbird last month, live in Gleadless, seen it quite often.

Went last Tuesday lunchtime. Lovely meal!! Homemade steak and ale pie, homemade chips. Normal pub food to suit all tastes but with a blackboard menu including rabbit and whole trout this particular week. Roaring log fire, clean and welcoming. Gill and Steve great hosts with a passion to bring The Bridge back to its former glory. Wishing them lots of luck and hoping the dog walkers(seperate room where dogs are wecome) and ramblers see this as an ideal location to start or finish their walk. The toilets have been re-furbished by the way, which has always been a let down (quite a talking point amongst the regulars!). Back on our dog walking route!

Just a warning, we had 2 Falcon mountain bikes stolen last night from back of house. Our fault, didn`t lock them away as would normally.suppose we got a bit complacent as never had anything go before :mad Charnock Avenue

I`m looking for someone to fit a T.V. ariel for my parents in S12. Dad has the ariel + wiring etc but needs it moving from the side of the house to the chimney. The banding on the chimney may need replacing as it is approx 15yrs old. Can anyone help and price would be good too. Thanks
