Thanks Craig, great to see local guys come on here and defend/explain stuff. Too many rumours go round. Clearly though you took advantage of terrace not weather. Fair play but be honest.

Someone told me Harlequin has some ggod bottles at cheaper than taps? Is it worth the walk to Kelham way (I usually get a few drinks on way to train station and off home - Fridays always a possibility though.)

The Guardian's Top 10 Budget Places to Eat
upthetykes replied to steve69's topic in Going out in Sheffield
I think it is something to do with eatsheffield, (maybe a showcase for local produce or something?) as they promote it quite heavily and would explain why it is new and in so many of these sort things so quickly. Great food though so heartily recommend if you passing at lunch for a quality snack. -
It's only 6.6%. We drink the strong ales at the taps in pints. Surely its up to the individual?

Think the taps has a screen now - didn't make it on friday to verify this as went back to the family to watch with them. -
Congrats - hope Henrys stays. They should design round these landmarks. Will be in for one of those loaded burgers soon.

Sheffield Tap now got a screen. Result. Will I make it home though if we win? -
Doesn't suprise me - and I see they have taken Sylvesters patio area already so must be happy. Hope the new venue does ale - fingers crossed.

New Menu at The Rutland Arms - Brown St
upthetykes replied to Rutland Arms's topic in Going out in Sheffield
new menu yet Andy? Popped in to warm up (and brace myself for indoor cold) before taps on my way home this weekend. They had on Crucible Best , Conquest, Hop Ripper Ipa, Sheffield Porter, Abbot Ale, Acorn Blonde, Derby Pale Gravitas as well as 3 real ciders and perrys. Upcoming seemed to be Ginger Stout, Gorlovka, Paradise Pale and Elizabeth Taylor. Did not pay that much attention though as they has whisky on buy one get one free (or double for single). 25 to choose from and apparently they have been through loads since this startde so have missed some good 'uns I think. Tried and disliked the Welsh one ~(ordinary) but loved many of the others. Will make the taps next week I am sure. -

Any decent B.Y.O restaurants on a Friday night.

I like fish and chips on me way home with a bottle of alright wine waiting for me when I get there. About half seven tonight I reckon. -
If you can sit outside in summer I will give it a go on my way to the station. Although seems a long way off! brrrrrrr
