Can anyone give me any advice/recommendations on a 'chancel report'? We have been informed that our house is 'potentially' within parish boundary and therefore we may be liable for chancel repair at some point. Should we pay into a liability insurance scheme or not (50 quid for 25 years)? The report back seems very ambiguous. Up until today, I hadn't even heard of a 'chancel report'! Any thoughts/ideas?

...and it needs quite a lot doing to it. For starters it needs new windows and doors. It will also need a new kitchen and bathroom putting in. I've priced up all of these from some of the 'big name' firms out there and have been taken aback at the prices they're quoting. Therefore, we're looking for advice on who is 'out there' who could supply and fit all of the above at competitive prices. Any recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
