  1. Popups by the sounds of it. You need a popup blocker or a decent browser.
  2. The problem with Facebook is most of the stuff on it is badly written by 3rd party retards. It is without a doubt the biggest collection of horrendous crap ever compiled and made available to the public.
  3. Slingboxes can work over the LAN, know how I know? I typed 'slingbox over lan' into Google.
  4. If I had to use Zone Alarm (I stopped ages ago) I'd have also switched by now. There is an update available for Zone Alarm now that will address this issue available from the Zone Alarm site.
  5. I would say they are almost certainly some sort of adapters for drives. Does your drive fit quite happily without rattling about?
  6. I know, but I don;t have a problem with DSG as such, (well, I do), but the worst of the bunch is PCW.
  7. what wifi card you got mini pci cardbus pcmcia tried removing old one? ffs, it's not difficult to type and make sense at the same time.
  8. Currys or Comet would be an improvement on PCW IMO.
  9. No-one needs to go to PC World, and half the routers in that link are crap. Stick to the original advice of use the cable equivalent of the DG834G, which would be the WGR614, and it's £16.84 cheaper at Amazon.
  10. ??? Freebie as in 'anything-not-Norton' you mean?
  11. So all the OP needs to do is get a cable phone line installed. If only everything in life was that easy.
  12. http://www.openoffice.org. I have an Office free office.
  13. Crikey, a 2.5 year old thread dug up for seemingly no reason at all. Impressive.
  14. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the iPod? Sounds like the printer has rogered up all the port associations. Damn USB.
  15. Yeah, I couldn;t see this going well so I decided to swerve it. The /us in the URL annoys me as well.
  16. Might be worth having a look through your instruction manual at some point.
  17. He's clearly burnt the iso correctly as he has a series of folders on the CD in Windows Explorer. Come on, wake up people. I did wonder if that was the issue, have you tried another XP disc to rule out a PC problem? I think that would be the next sensible step.
  18. I do it all the time, why laptop manufacturers put the button ON THE F'ING FRONT OF THE LAPTOP rather than on the top like a sane person would I'll never know. (Well, I might do one day, who knows).
  19. Is your router broadcasting the SSID? Can you connect to any other networks with the laptop? Has anything else scanned the area and found your network?
  20. FF3 isn;t really unstable though, it's more stable than most of the stuff you use. FF2 and FF3 both have their flaws.
  21. Well as it's got a 3 year warranty for the red ring thing, and the 360 was released <3 years ago, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet they'll believe it is still in warranty.
  22. First hit in Google. http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2008/02/16/give-firefox-3-firefox-2s-address-bar/
  23. People who think IE is a way of life and bang on about it at every opportunity are also a bit bonkers as well tbh.
