  1. I've got the Orange 2MB broadband free as I'm on contract. Wouldn't say it was amazing but for free internet it does the job mostly, can get a bit congested at times but that could be down to heavy downloading, not sure what they do when you do that. Also my BT line isn't overly great. If you want decent broadband, pay for it, if mediocre to reasonably average is what you're after then go for the free Orange offering.
  2. 1. Old ones maybe, get a decent one and it's fine in daylight. 2. Shop around. 3. Subjective, some people don't notice massive artefacts in images while others notice the slightest error on 1 pixel.
  3. That's normally due to the transponder for the immobiliser being in the head of the key. The key will physically work but the immobiliser will stay on so the car won't start.
  4. Depends how you set your client up, you can set POP accounts up to keep emails on the server for X days, and as most people delete email as they go setting a long storage time usually makes it work in the same way as IMAP, but less prone to failure. As mentioned above though, they're probably still on the old PC, just need to fire the old PC back up and export the mails to a flash drive then import on the new PC.
  5. Right, I am fully aware of how radios work and what may or may not be plausible excuses as to why the bloke might not be sat using 500W all day. Unless you are that bloke, or know him, then just leave it at that please.
  6. Yes, unlikely though as I never hear anyone else on the other side of the conversation, just him, on channel 19, all day. PITA, that's all.
  7. Depends on the insurance company, some do, some aren't so keen. Best bet is just ring them and explain the situation.
  8. I don't, but I do know I can pick him up all the way from Manchester to the other side of Wrexham keying over eveything else for most of the way so he isn't using 4W. I was using 500W as an example of how not to use a CB, he is an inconsiderate tit, he may be using less, or more.
  9. The amp is fine, you don't get amps for 6x9's or subs, they are all the same. It's down to how well you fit and whether or not you know what you're doing. As you said originally, you have no crossover. You either need to set your head unit up properly, or use the proper outputs, or fit a crossover. An example of a suitable crossover is the top one on this page. You can spend more on one if you want, but the theory is still the same, it cuts out unwanted mid and high frequencies and leaves only the low stuff to go to the amp.
  10. Pretty sure the clue is in the question on this one. Odd thing with CB, if you look online there's loads of people on it, but in relaity I hardly hear anyone, apart from some scouse bloke who just sits on channel 19 all day talking crap at 500W.
  11. As above, especially as it fails to mention the report is also displayed instantly online so you don't need to enter anything other than the domain name.
  12. Also, the more money you spend the more of a learning curve there is. If you don't need a high end package then don't get one.
  13. Just copying the whole drive isn't going to work, you need to image the drive, with something like Acronis TrueImage (think there's a free version available). If you just want to save documents and data then all you need to do is, assuming you organise your files in a sensible manner, copy your My Documents folder to the external drive and\or any other important folders of information. You can also look into backing up profiles etc... so you can recover emails and browser settings from your backups. You could use some backup software to do all this automatically rather than hand picking all the bits of info you want backing up.
  14. Research running costs thoroughly though. You can buy a cheap colour laser for less than £100 or so and spend more than that every time the toner needs replacing, or have to replace the fuser and toner as one unit.
  15. Doesn;t matter whether it's old or new, it'll need something connecting to it to make it wireless. Easiest thing if you don;t fancy opening up the PC (about the only thing actually) is a USB wireless adapter. I'd avoid Belkin and D-Link. I'd go for a Linksys or Netgear, but preferably Linksys.
  16. Hmm, I can't find that anywhere. Is it the ******* plus extension you have or somethign else?
  17. Well ******* gets rid of all the ads, if you're still getting them you haven;t configured it properly, you need to subscribe to a list for it to work (Tools > ******* > Filters > Add Subscription) Not sure what you've done to get rid of all the bookmarks etc... What were you doing, were you trying to go from FF2 to FF3, were you on FF3 before, what were the messages?

  19. Tools > Options > Advanced, Network tab and then the settings buton. configure your proxy details there. 3.0 is the latest.
  20. Why not, shop around and get some prices, see who offers what. Personally I'd avoid AXA as they have been a royal PITA by not knowing their arse from their elbow when doing work for AXA customers.
  21. Neither's reading, but some people still struggle.
