  1. My mum grew up on fitzhubert road, number 119, Laverne slinn, Does anyone remember her?
  2. All my family are fat, Have been since they were little, I have a sister who had to have a gastric bypass because she was that fat, I on the other hand have always been naturally thin, So although i have never had to diet i have seen everyone i love have to do it, Its not easy or nice especially with children so good luck
  3. There used to be a club at hillsborough swimming baths for overweight children, dont know if its still there, Not being rude but you may have left it a little late to help her lose weight before september, Its not long and i think , im not sure but children shouldnt lose large amounts of weight quickly, Why havent the school said anything before? My friend got a letter home about her 6 yr old daughter basically saying she was fat. 10 Stone, if true is very big for a child, im 5ft 8 and 10 stone ( im female) Good luck tho
  4. Im sorry but i cant retract wybourn, I was brought up on littledale and know the wybourn well lol, Wybourn isnt too bad but there are some right undesireables on there ( i know them) lol Pmsl it nearly was the A-Z lol Home to me is feeling safe, Not having to put things out of sight in the garden, We had garden ornaments and plant pots pinched once on littledale, I like quiet places, not much traffic, no main roads and lots of old people lol, But thats just me lol i work hard and dont want my stuff nicking
  5. Pmsl, Yes but im not wrong about most of them lol maybe Chapletowns ok, But all the others are right, No one has come on and said the other areas are nice, except Chap which i have retracted
  6. Im not a snob lol, I just dont like shiregreen really, I have friends on there and when i visit them theres always something going off, people shouting, It just seems noisey and everyones got an attitude and tries to "stare" at ya, Its just not my kind of place, So if that makes me a snob then so be it lol
  7. Just out of interest why are you so bothered anyway? The area i slated most was shiregreen ( which i do know well) you live on the wybourn, So why so intent on arguing with me about my opinion?
  8. "Yawn" As ive said that is MY opinion
  9. Im not going to get in to a little debate with you but obviously if im delivering i have to drive through estates and different areas . And i havent pulled down most areas at all, Ive just pointed out the obvious ones to avoid, It just takes common sense, you can tell what an area is like just by looking at it
  10. Yes i do actually! I deliver to some places at night and have had to call the police at least 3 times due to break ins, Im talking business's here not homes , Theres always one , Ever tried delivering to a petrol station at 3am? With around 20-30 drunk blokes just come out a night club all wanting to know whats in ya van? No i doubt it lol
  11. Yes norton lees round the park is lovely, My uncle lives up there and the park is great for kids
  12. Easy! I hate sat navs, Ive had 3 of them now, 2 are currently living on the M1 somewhere , They lie to me and tell me the wrong way, I often argue with them as i know the shorter route
  13. Awww has little Alex been looking at my past posts? Awww clever boy, Its a pity i never put exactly where isnt it? Ecclesfield is a lovely area, especially on the quiet bit im on, And you Alex, living at shiregreen, thats nice lol, Next time ya out, have a drive up "the wheel" thats my end, Very nice
  14. I run a haulage company, therefore travel round all parts of south yorkshire weekly, I speak to many customers and see many things, I.e places broken into, fires, fights, you name it ive seen it, also its common sense some areas just dont look nice, This is MY opinion. And ofcourse i can get to beighton without a map
  15. Well sicey avenue isnt, my mate lives on there and he says its getting worse for them
  16. Gina I understand what you are saying and like i said not everyone on that estate is the same and obviously your nothing like the "scum" on there, The needles were on shirehall road, There a quiet couple who wouldnt bother anyone and yet have had their van stolen twice, the tyres on the car and van done twice and its all pointless , no reason or revenge behind it, Another friends kids went to beck school and they were getting bullied the school did nothing so they apporoached the parents only for them to be nasty and start threatening them. My personal opinion is shiregreen whilst driving through it looks run down and dirty and very depressing, No one seems to have any respect or pride. Shiregreen years ago was a lovely place, classed as posh really ( in the 1940) My nans uncles lived there and were well to do, But now its full of immigrants. As ive said Gina you sound like a decent lass, nothing like the above mentioned and if your happy there and havent had trouble then thats good and im happy for you but PERSONALLY i wouldnt live there
  17. But like you say, " made aware that we wasnt scared to stick up for our selves" So where ever you live you probably wont get trouble because 90% of the "scum" are cowards anyway and when challenged they back down, Some of chapletown is nice, I did say that
  18. I have quite a few friends who live on that estate and the things ive seen and been told isnt human let alone scum, Ofcourse im not stupid enough to believe the boundries of shiregreen hold all the cities scum, and yes most estates have some "scum" in them but shiregreen seems to have a bigger share than any other estate, I can go in my front garden without picking "needles" up before my child can play, I can walk around my area without seeing stray dogs and 40 staffies being lead by chavs with their jeans round their ankles, why cant people on shiregreen cut their privets? or tidy their gardens? or put litter in the bin? Maybe i notice these little things as im not used to them
  19. I as a woman wouldnt go down pitsmoor alone at night, infact the state this country is in i dont think id go to any of the areas i mentioned alone at night
  20. Lol, Im not a snob but i dont like scum, We used to live on the cross 13 yrs ago, it was horrid, coppers out all the time, sat in the garden and all you can hear is arguing and kids shouting, dog muck all over the streets cos of strays and owners not picking them up, chavs speeding about in crap cars giving you dirty looks, Having to bolt down pretty planters so they dont get nicked, going to bed making sure everything is locked and safe, Me and my husband have worked hard to move somewhere better, nicer and quiet, no scum, no noise, Our child has a better start in life here than he did on the cross, Before anyone starts we lived in a well known vile bit of the cross and yes i know not all the cross is like that and that there are some lovely people on there
  21. Well thats just my personal opinion, I wouldnt want to live in any of those areas and i bet the op would find her £500 budget would go a long way in any of those areas
  22. Theres lots of threads on here with people asking the same question and you'll get the same answers, Avoid...Parson cross, wybourn, sky edge, manor (any part being upper or lower) Darnall, Tinsley, shiregreen, wincobank, attercliffe, shirecliffe, norton, parts of hillsborough, foxhill, highgreen, stannington, pitsmoor, parts of chapletown, Beighton, gleadless, parts of handsworth, Swallownest, Richmond, Woodhouse, pmsl, infact do ya really have to move to sheffield! Sheffield is the same as anywhere some areas are nice, some are known to be vile but alot of people live there and like it, If your quiet and decent and keep yourself to yourself you should avoid the scum anyway, your budget isnt bad anyway which should keep you outta the dumps, pick a house and then drive round the area a couple of times at different times of the day and dont forget google earth, look at the property and surrounding homes on there, good luck
  23. Have you seen shiregreen recently? I drove through it the other day, New kerb edgings ( that the scum can flatten with their cars) All new turf on the pavement edge ( again can be driven over) All new fencing and drives on the houses, Tree pruning and general tidying up of the area, I give it 6 weeks and the scum will have ruined it all again, They do up the dumps in the hopes of unsuspecting poor people moving on there, If you didnt know what the estate was like it actually looks quite nice in some parts, They should charge the tenants for damaging things, and i thought the powers that be said they were going to fine people for parking on the pavements now?
  24. Someone my mum knows takes their grandson to a class/group that does all running and kind of athletics for young children, My son is 4 and full of energy, nothing tires him out! Not interested in fighting or karate as yet as hes too young with no attention span, But the running and climbing, jumping etc would be ideal, Does anyone know where they do this? Im in S35 so ideally my part of the city, Or does anyone work in a zoo and hires out the chimps room?
  25. If it really was possible to contact the dead dont you think the goverment would have found a way to "sell" it and put VAT and tax on it . People that pretend to be able to do this can cause more upset and harm than the "unanswered" questions your left with, If you get told something you didnt want to hear you have to live with it, I wouldnt bother, who ever it is you want to contact will be fine and no one on this earth will be able to contact them
