Thanks Carpetviper, Ive put him in a smaller space now, a up turned chest of drawers lol, Ive given him a warm bath and changed his beech chippings to compost and playsand 50/50 mix, He is more active today, Ive given him some tomato and other things but he hasnt eaten as yet so ill see how he goes on, Thats what ive done to be honest , i think ive freaked him out by moving him, Wish id left him where he was lol Thanks Kathy

Hello, Ive had my horsefield tortoise for over a year now, he had a tortoise table with UV and basking lamp, He lived on beech chippings and ate lettuce mixed with various weeds and flowers, he was doing well and eating lots daily and growing, So i decided to make him a new home, in my spare room i have a "hole" in the wall, like a big cupboard its about 3ft x 3ft, So i cleaned it out and put water proof flooring in and some beech chipping, rocks,pebbles,reptile sand etc, I put his uv in and his basking lamp both at the same hieght as before, Its an open cupboard/hole so i put and old cot railing up to stop the cats and to stop him falling out, It isnt a cold room and its quiet like my bedroom, But ever since i moved him hes stopped eating properly, Ive taken him to the vets and there is nothing medically wrong with him so i did think maybe he needs time to settle in his new home, but after 3 weeks of not eating much at all i was getting worried as hes lost weight so ive put him back in my bedroom again in a big drawer with his uv and basking, he did eat the first day but now hes not eating again , I bathe him every other day, I bought some "tortoise seeds and planted them all and when they grew i put them in his house for him and he just ignored them. So now im lost? I dont know what to do ive had him back at the vets and they gave him a thorough check up but nothing is wrong? Hes about 5 yrs old. So now im thinking he just doesnt like it here, i even bought some of the dry tortoise food ( i know there not meant to have it) But i was just desperate to try and get him to eat, he didnt touch that, What can i do? What can i try? I dont want him to die Im at the stage now where id be willing for someone more experienced to take him and look after him as i really dont want him to die, Please help

Just to answer a question someone asked, Yes the victim ( my sister) is white, But i must say she has never had any trouble with the asians, pakistanis,indians etc and she mixes with them quite alot living where she does, Also when the asians were helping her they were shouting at the kosovans " you dirty b******s, you want shipping back home" which i found quite ironic as if that had been said by my sister she would have been in more trouble than the flasher! I do think racism is only serious or taken seriously if something is said by a white person, All the other races seem to abuse each other all the time but nothing is said, Ive heard black people insulting each other with N****r and asians calling each other pakis? very confusing

Have you read the post? The "asians" involved themselves! No one asked them to, My sister rang our mum and asked her to fetch her daughter incase there was more trouble, then she rang the police, waited for the crowd to leave and then went home, she didnt want to go home while they were there as she didnt want them to see where she lived. The "asians" were either being nice or using it as an excuse to fight with the kosovans, either way they were helpful and polite lol. That last sentence needs "framing" as ya dont hear that much on the forum

Sorry, I went offline last night. Yes "rented a spine" means he stood up for himself, Like you normally say a coward is spineless? Anyway he must have had at least a can of stella to go out and stand up to one lad lol, Id like to know how you can tell a kosovan from any other race?. A Kosovan ( excuse spelling) Has just been trying to get my sisters attention while she was sat waiting for a friend on darnall main road, She ignored him , He then came over and flashed her, She had her daughter with her whos 4, So she went home and told her husband who rented a spine and went out after him, Im pressuming he was only youngish as my brother in law chucked him off his bike and threw the bike in the bushes, the Kosovan then ran off, My b in law gave chase only to be met with about 20 of them, In the mean time a young asian lad had asked my sister what was wrong, when she told him , he then gathered a few friends and went to help, Not sure whats happening now as my sister went home and rang the police, shes sent her daughter to my mums just incase theres trouble. But it does make me wonder why all these different races dont like each other? The Kosovans and asians were shouting racist comments to each other and it looked like they were all going to start fighting, You pressume that racism is white against black but its obviously anything different against different to them? What a horrid world we live in

If its 2.30-4am there will be paper delivery drivers in that area that may have seen something, were the men in a disguise at all? Or could he see their face to give a good description? Hope your all ok tho

I find upperthorpe a very dirty depressing place, Its a shame for the nice people that live there, I blame the council, they house the scum in the first place, Should be 3 strikes and your out, no more homing them when they cant respect the neighbours or the property, kick them all out, send them to another city

Ive heard it all now Racist ice cream vans ??? The world has gone mad! And as for obese children, its not the ice cream mans fault, its the parents. We live in a "nanny" culture as it without banning ice cream vans for being racist.

Maybe but i personally dont care what they look like or what colour they are aslong as they remember that some people work so not to be noisey after 9pm unless its a special occasion ofcourse, no shouting/swearing, I know more of her business than my own! Its ignorant and rude and common!

What bothers me is the council knock down housing, sometimes in rough areas, then all the tenants then get given priority, Now what should happen is , that if youve ever been complained about or caused trouble and hassle for your neighbours then your "priority" bid isnt allowed, Yes i own my property but i was brought up in council with nothing as my dad prefered a drink, But point being if i wanted to live near scum i could have bought a house in a different area ( wont mention any and get into the usual dabate) for a good 40-50 grand less, But i didnt want to live with scum so i picked my area and road carefully, Now the council, Who obviously have no common sense as ive found out today this "said" family, both parents have criminal records and one child was taken off them, So without being blunt there SCUM but never mind , lets shove these lowlifes on this nice quiet road. As someone has said you have to keep a record or noise and anti social behaviour?? I havent got time to be scribbling things down every 2 minutes for a long dragged out process, It should be easier to say , "Look council numpties, this family are scum and lowering the tone, please move to another area where they will feel more at home". Everyone slates shiregreen ( myself included lol) but in the 1930's it was a lovely place to live, you were considered quite well off and posh, but over time scum have been moved in and the decent people outnumbered in some cases. But is it just me or wouldnt it be better to have all the "chavs and scum" in one place? lol Or maybe the council should just take more responsibility for the people they put in areas and not make it a long dragged out ordeal to complain about their actions? Theres no easy answer but sometimes i wish i could pick houses up with the scum in them and move them a good few roads away lol

I didnt mean it in the sense of "ohh i own my home so im special" I meant that when ever someone new moves on a road may it be by renting or buying maybe the poor sods that live there already should have a say in who moves in

I think it would be a good idea that when a council property becomes empty all the residents on the road, Maybe 5 up and 5 down from the empty property should be allowed to have a brief meeting with the possible "new tenants", tell them what the road is like, I.e quiet, friendly and what behaviour wouldnt be tolerated from them, And then let the tenants vote on who they want to receive the tenancy on the property. This is because our road was always quiet and lovely, theres not many council properties left on here, we are private, The council have given a home to a family who are always shouting, swearing and arguing , anything from 7am to 10 pm, niether of them work so dont consider anyone who does, they have 4 children who shout and swear also, they are what would be considered scum! Some neighbours have had a quiet word with them and explained that noise in the garden carries a long way and that everyone can hear her swearing but to no avail. So point being if we could have met them first and voted they would never have got on here

I ve just got some tickets from meadowhall to cleethorpes, single adults ticket online is £5.50 its cheaper to buy them as singles and not returns, it will be cheaper i think for oap's, do it online, its easier and cheaper, the train is transpennine and stops on platform 2 at meadowhall at 16 minutes past the hour every hour
