  3. its great being an old git,you can stink of pee get on the poor excuse for buses in sheffield for free,get in everwhere cheaper,negotiate good discounts playing the poor pensioner card cheap carveries,sit outside john lewis and watch the yuppies rushing about and working thier butts off to pay my pension and saving all that money on the previously mentioned to fill my Harley up and tear around winding everyone up.living as long as I can to make the kid wait for his inheritance if theres any left!!!!!!!!!

  5. It really does stink,it ought to be replaced by a stall selling mussells and whelks,winkles,tripe and cowheel I bet all the yuppies wont be rushing there to spend there easy money on rubbish.
  6. when Iwas at longley school in the fourties/fifties Miss chappel the head teacher she would cane me and i would scream but she never won I was still a bad lad.The teachers at shirecliffe played the same game,they also lost Mrs Brennan used to slipper me and my mate Terry every day,I think thats how she got her jollies.I once got six of the best from Arther Siddall for taking the new putty out of the windows and sticking it on kids heads,you have never seen as many kids with bald patches,and to top it all he caned me on the stage in front of the whole school,by ,did my street cred go up!!!
  7. hi nimrod arthur kitson also had kitsons garage and transport at the bottom of herries rd which is now charlie browns and brammalls gold room,under brammalls siign is kitsons name,yes its still there.hi hillsboro,what about eagle coaches on bradfield rd it was run by warringtons in the fifties.I have the printing blocks for the letterheads.

  10. just come back from Germany and seen a lot of graveyards and they are all immaculate soldiers and civilians .

I think Sandor Levi used to have the garage at the corner of Green lane and Shiregreen lane.Ken Middleditch lived near blandford forum and had a fabulous colection of bikes.I called at his house and Eric Hockaday was there we only went for an hour and stayed all day,he was a pal of a friend of mine Eric Stead.
  12. anyone remember the craze for stilts in the fifties.I bought a pair from a wood yard on Broughton lane and walked home to shirecliffe on them,couldnt walk staight for a week.

  14. what about Tommy Bateman,Stuart Hickman and Tony Robinson and Keith Evens.There is a road at Hellaby,Rotherham named after Tommy Bateman as he used to ride the old Bramley track on Cumwell lane.Stuart hickman was a plumber,Keith Evens built sets for Corrie and Tony Robinson had lorries.My first visit to Owlerton was 1949 I started again in the sixties and went every week until the mid eighties and got to know a lot of the riders.

  16. Hi Ballie Yeh I still see some of the names you wrote Roger Starkes runs around in a lexus now,Mal,is Melvyn Lunn and he still rides bikes and hes pushing 70 now,I went to school with Tony Larner,last time I saw him he had a plastic pig but thet was years ago.

  18. Sat in the back garden Sunday night at 10.30 and saw six unmanned what looked like hot air balloons go past heading north east,any ideas to what they were.Is it the Martian invasion at last,I don,t know what they wannt to come here for!!!

Reginald Dixon lived on Walkley Lane and Bowness Rd before moving to Lytham St anns his friend still lives on Walkley Lane and is still alive and kicking at 96yrs,my uncle used to pump the organ for him at BirleyCarr chapel.Diane lee (litttlehails) lived on Batworth drive I believe.Frank Varey lived at Grenoside,Macanearnys (footballers) lived at oughtibridge.Howard Wilkinson lived on Bowness Rd for a while and Harry Latham (united) lived on Standish Rd.
