Hi Sam, How are you keeping? I still keep in touch with Charlie; Christmas cards and occasional pints before a match. I live in Scotland now so I only get to a match once a month or so. It’s interesting seeing some of the names mentioned on here, most seem to be from the year above ours at Ecco so I knew them but not well.

In the early 70's we used to be regulars in the Tankard in Ecclesfield where Trevor (?) was the grumpy landlord. Four or five of us went there from being 16 onwards and when the last of us finally reached 18 we had a bit of a celebration and told Trevor our ages. We used to go to the Ritz cinema on Saturday mornings to watch regulars like 'Zorro' and afterwards go to Buchanon Rd. shops to buy a ha'penny cane each and sword fight all the way back to Milnrow Rd. There is a string of craters in Geno Woods that run in line with Penistone rd that we used to play in (around mid 60s). An old local told us they were made by bombs dropped to lighten German aircraft on their way back from the Sheffield raids.
