First of all, WOW, greta new form look. Its been a while so its new to me Does anyone know if the time on my Lyceum Theatre tickets is the time of the show starting or the doors opening to enter? I cannot find any information on the Lyceum Theatre's site and the tickets just have a time. I vaguely remember other shows having a time but this was doors opening and not the time of the show. UPDATE: I've managed to get through to the Theatre and they say the show starts at the time on the ticket.

Schools can't afford to maintain swimming pools. My primary and middle schools both had pools but the Upper school (I lived in a part of the country with a 3 school system instead of 2) had no provision and swimming was not part of the curriculum. However, there are plenty of public swimming pools that provide lessons and many are free.

It is a total of approx 1.6 million hectares. It is not the green space everywhere.

Yorkshire Water digging up the road is not the fault of Amey, emergencies happen and they need to get to the pipes. In addition, road flooding is mostly due to the storm water drains being silted up. Yorkshire Water is in the process of cleaning them out, but to clean them all takes time. Personally the fish and chips we had while there was mediocre at best. My local chippy here in Sheffield does far superior food and it probably comes form the same place (Grimsby). By the evening the fresh quality is no different to the fish sold just about anywhere in the country.

The Mechanic would need to be working over approx 7.5 hours a day at £35 an hour for 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year before they would be required to be VAT registered. We build on just 10% of the land space in our country. Germany for example build on 16% and they have not concreted over their country.

That IS my experience of the public sector. Department I worked in (on contract) had a full time member of staff who did nothing for the entire 18 months I was there. He was so rude and surly to people, no one wanted to talk to him but he was kept on his £40,000+ a year salary with his own office to keep him away from anyone. ---------- Post added 18-07-2017 at 15:16 ---------- My Grandfather died at 73 while working as a farmer. No early retirement for him. He worked almost every day of his life for over 50 years. The public sector early retirement excuse is utter dross.

I have not seen a single response on this thread where someone has argued that the public sector is paid too much. The argument is the public sector is paid more than the private sector and the ONS and IFS back this up. There are many more manual jobs in the private sector where you are not allowed to retire early. Your argument that who would be a firefighter in their 60's is easily countered with who would be a bricklayer, North sea fisherman, lumberjack, oilrig worker, miner, farmer in their 60's? Many do, but there are also other roles people can play in the public sector that are not as physically demanding too. Early retirement is also not exclusive to the physical jobs either. The public sector is paid on average a higher hourly rate than the private sector. The public sector has by far better pension provision for its workers. The public sector in addition offers early retirement to a large number of employees.
