  1. Yes I enjoyed it too. I spotted the old Bole Hill Lane School, the couples house was around Linaker / Waller Road. Then the last scene was where the spectacular views are from Stannington View Road...only it was night. I especially liked that she walked in the right direction home!

  3. I don't think the small food shops in Crosspool would survive a second convenience store. The fruit and veg shops, the bread shops, even the newsagents would undoubtedly suffer and we'd end up with more empty premises.

A petrol station that could price match Crookes and other local petrol stations would have much more trade and I fail to understand how fuel is cheaper in Bamford than Crosspool. I'm objecting to a new development.

I want Crosspool shops to survive.

  5. I would like to reccommend an electrician I have used this week, Scott Graham of S10 electricals. I picked him out of the phone book, he moved a socket for us and refitted a security lamp. Arrived as planned, fitted us in as requested, reasonable price too.

Also just had fitted wardrobes by Supafit of Dronfield and Heeley. They are stunning wardrobes. Delighted with the service and the finished product etc.

  6. If you`ve been to Burslem, Tunstall, et al, you`d realise that their fans are probably middle class relatively back in the Potteries.

I am Potteries born and bred, and I can confirm this without hesitation.

(Thanks jemson for giving me the best laugh of the day, clearly have both made a lucky escape)

  7. you could do a Guess Whats in the Box game, ie cardboard boxes with something made in Sheffield in....perhaps a fork, a horse shoe, a matchbox tram etc, but each box is filled with something progressively yucky.......cornflakes, yoghurt, shredded newspaper etc.

A big bowl of hand washing soap and water at the end.

    Even big kids love mess.

  8. I agree Suffragette, I couldn't understand that his wife would let him anywhere near him immediately after he told her he'd had an affair, even less so as it was supposedly with the 15yr old.

We all have different comfort zones though. I'm generally most comfortable watching a Morse type murder mystery, and although I found this very uncomfortable I could just watch it, unlike, for instance, torture scenes in spy/FBI series such as 24 or The girl with the dragon tattoo.

  9. I think the number 52 which seems to run every 5 seconds or so goes there, but I'm not 100% sure!

leah is quite right, its the No 52 and they do run every 5 seconds, on the dot.
