  1. Hi again, I think you're thinking of Zareena, she was really tall and lived just up the road from school, Nasim was always fighting with the boys from what I remember, never a dull moment with her lol although I remember she got the Mr.Potts 'eye popping stare' a few times Do you remember his stare when he got angry? It used to terrify us all, the whole class would sit in silence all day after that lol
  2. Wow! When I saw this thread I thought yeah, Mr Potts was my favourite primary school teacher, then I saw your post , he was a great teacher & demanded respect from us all, he got it too I used to love how kids would squirm when he turned his 'angry eyes' on them though but I honestly thought that I would be the only one that would remember his private reg after all these years!
  3. Hi Daryl, I'm not sure if you'll remember her, she was a good friend of mine...Nasim Raja, we were both in Mr.Potts class back in '79/'80 and you were in Mrs Blands class I remember us all going to Alton Towers in our last year at Abbeydale, I was scared to death of getting on that corkscrew but once I'd been on they couldn't get me off it lol, seems weird but there were no massive queues back then It all seems a lifetime away now, time flies way too fast

  5. Ahhh the good old days, I went to Abbeydale Middle school, just a short walk down Broadfield Road to the baths, late 70's every Friday the whole class happily walked along in pairs to see the dreaded Mr Scott our swimming instructor, he was so bloody strict, always shouting and angry, but he taught us really well and got everyones respect Got my first 25 yard certificate there, thanks to Mr Scott! I had a school friend who also dived in and hit her head on the bottom of the pool, she was rushed to hospital as she was unconscious, we all panicked but luckily she just had slight concussion. I went swimming during the school holidays that year with a few friends and whilst we were in the pool, a man in the cubicles opened the yellow curtain and 'exposed' himself to us (to put it politely), sorry to say I've not been back there since!
  6. Hi, could you please let me know if this event is ticket only or would we able to pay on entry?
