  1. This happened to me on the way back from castleton, pitch black, and it was such a large pothole that it caused £800 of damage, bent my alloy, broke my steering rack etc. I went back with my camera the day after to take pics and they had already filled it in!! I took the pics anyway. I sent a claim form to the council which i got from their website, they offered me £300 which i didnt accept so they sent out a damage surveyor who looked at my car and took pics. They ended up sending me a cheque for £745 after i sent them my repair quote. Its definately worth sending them a claim form, just make sure you include pics, times and exact location.

  3. Ahh im sooo glad shes back home safe and sound!! I bet shes being spoilt rotten!!
  4. Im so sorry simon, i also have a little chi, i saw your poster tonight and i wanted to cry for you. I walk down eccy road everyday so i will keep my eyes peeled for you. I hope so much that she is returned quickly and safely to you, you must be distraught!! x x x
  5. As bad as it may seem to some I wont be going in to players due to what i have seen of the people who frequent it, but in its defence where is there to go in sheffield thats decent, not over priced and isnt either full of mainly chavs or people looking down their noses!? Unfortunately in the world we live in it is near impossible not to see or be very close to a fight of somesort which makes everyones experience on the night unpleasant, sometimes a night out is just the luck of the draw as to the kind of people who will be out. Sadly some people react very badly when they have been consuming alcohol but its something we all have to witness. It seems strange that in other cities where they have similar concept bars to players the same sort of people arent attracted to them, so maybe its just sheffield, saying that they dont have scantily clad women and men working/dancing in there, which im afraid in my opinion will bring the class of customers down.
  6. There is often a clause stating that the 3rd party cover on your own insurance to drive another car is only valid if over 25 years old. I thought that no insurance was not a fixed penalty and if it goes to court its at the courts discretion.
  7. Hi all im just appealing for any witnesses to an accident today, 20th august, around 3.25pm, in which a terrier dog was hit and killed by a red car which drove off and is believed to be an alfa romeo. It happened up from morrisons at meadowhead opposite the wagon and horses service station, just beyond the crossing. If anyone has any information about the car which hit the dog, confirmation of make and or registration please post. Thankyou!!
  8. Also the barriers are more likely to make people make snap decisions. In the run up to the roundabout you can see if it is clear or not without the barriers so you can make a judgement to proceed without the need to stop or not, and if you have misjudged this there is plenty of time (depending on your speed) to slow and stop. However with the barriers in place more people are likely to get to the end of the barriers, make a snap decision whether to go and are more likely to crash on the roundabout if misjudged than being able to stop in the run up to the round about. I really dont think that 8 injury, and i presume minor prangs justifies £15k on some ugly useless barriers when the roads in sheffield and derbyshire are so dire.
  9. I agree, those boards are unsightly and could be more dangerous than of any use. Are we not all taught that progression is a good thing, to look ahead and anticipate what will be happening on the roads, these unsightly barriers go against this. Any decent driver would be approaching at a reasonable speed and if clear going without needing to break. To think that these will reduce accidents i personally think ifs a fallicy and i would like to see the reasoning behind wasting the money on them. Do the council not think that they should be spending the money on repairing potholes and other bits of the roads which actually make it dangerous rather than spending time and money on ugly and unneccessary signs.
  10. I think its a bit of a scandal that they charge £100 just to see you in emergency times. I am aware that the reaction from this comment will not be welcome to many but i really do feel that if people cannot afford to pay vets bills that may occur and are often inevitable with owning pets then they shouldnt have them. Charities like the PDSA shouldnt have to pick up the bill for these unfortunately ill or injured animals. Is it not a free service if you are on benefits? I would be willing to wait or endure ome chaos for free treatment.
  11. In no way shape or form is £60 proportionate to driving through a road that incidently we all, as drivers, pay road tax for. In the dark and rain it is not 100% clear as to where you are meant to turn off to avoid going through the bus gate as the road which you do have to turn onto is a dark backroad which takes you a crazy way around half of sheffield to get back to the place where you would have been if gone through the bus gate. The visibility of going down this road is also usually shocking as it is lined with cars parked on both sides. What gripes me is why do buses and taxis have priority over the rest of us?! We all need to be where we are going on time. How is driving on a road disgusting, worthy of a fine of £6000, to the above poster?? Theres no wonder the traffic is so bad around sheffield with all the empty bus lanes which could be utilised if only we werent to get fined. Arbritary money sucking out of the public, who often make a genuine mistake by going through a bus gate, makes me sick!!
  12. Ive never had a bad experience there i have to say! Sometimes have to prompt staff to bring water but thats about it. 5-7 everyday £5 pizzza, includes salmon calzone which is amazing and also bellini and cocktails bogof between 5-7 or 5-9 cant remember!
  13. I go to high street hair and beauty in dronfield next to the pet shop on the high street, very good and reasonable. They use biosculpture gel.
  14. I hate pets at home selling animals, ok for non live stuff! I bought a rabbit from there and within 10 days he was dead. They give a 7 day guarantee but you have to have a post mortem, i didnt want another one and didnt want him to have a post mortem. I rang up trading standards to see who to contact to compain but i was told that the reason the situation is so and will not change is that whoever inspects them gives them prior warning so they will never be caught out!! I personally think that they shouldnt be able to sell live animals. It makes me sad and i want to buy them all so i can give them a good life because guaranteed its going to be short!
  15. Jeesus I was expecting to see some stunners! Looks like sheff will be getting no where in terms of miss england!!
