I am also back on the 20th for a gig - could meet the ghosty people in the pub for some spirits (or prob just beer) afterwards if someone lets me know where y'all are at! mwah-haha!!!
  6. I don't believe the Pole has flu - I think it's her Friday night shenanigans that's done it! For non-farcebook people here's the link to my pics from le weekend: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=166867&id=704085489&l=2e334dde44 ;-)
  7. To kick things off the recipe for my courgette cake can be found at: http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/5959/lemon-courgette-cake.aspx Ingredients 200g (7 oz) grated courgette 150g (5 oz) caster sugar 1 egg 125ml (4 fl oz) vegetable oil 200g (7 oz) plain flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons lemon zest Preparation method 1) Preheat oven to 160 C / Gas mark 3. Grease a loaf tin. 2) In a bowl, beat together the courgette, sugar, egg and oil. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder; stir in the cinnamon and lemon zest. Stir the flour mixture into the courgette mixture just until blended. Pour the batter into the prepared tin. 3) Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven until a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean. Remove from heat and cool about 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Hi everyone Just thought I'd start a thread for folk to post their scrummy cake recipes! Thank you for indulging me in my obsession! I will miss Tuesday nights with you all - thanks for the T-shirt too!! The Quine (quine: girl) xx Example usage: "Hud on you! Are ye a loon or a quine?" Translation: "Wait a moment you! Are you a boy or a girl?"
  9. p.s. Is there a spare copy of the ball pictures going round? I never saw them!!
  10. The cakes just weren't up to scratch - AND people were promising to bring cakes and then "forgetting". There's only so many times a girl can be let down before she has to wake up and smell the coffee (which smells bland with no accompanying cakey-aroma).... plus I've been offered a job in Stoke-on-Trent and I'm moving to Northwich... And my kitchen now stinks of shrimp paste thanks to Rob!! See you Tue!!
  11. Hello Ladies! Is it too late to join you next Friday? I checked with my Red Cross manager and have been relieved of Elton John - mainly because the old diva hasn't sold as well as they'd expected! Let me know if I should bring my charity unleashed vouchers if we're going on a cocktail binge afterwards! Need to go out in style after all! Q x
  12. Thought I'd get my name down early whilst you lot are still at t' pub, for next Tuesday 20th. Sadly it will probably be my last session ever - nothing to do with those nasty reds! So bring on the cake!! (I'm not just saying that for extra cake) Q :-)
  13. No cake for the 13th please! I think Mani's vanilla and strawberry cheesecake was so good it will take 2 weeks to top it... I have a date with 2 hairy bikers next week but sign me up for the 20th please!
