  1. And where are they going to be parked when shopping, presuming the rider can push/carry the scooter as well as a bag of shopping, plus taking them on a tram/bus? Seems we have problems there.
  2. Presuming they were made legal, what rules could be applied in places such as Hillsborough where the pavement and road are narrow and thronged with pedestrians, buses, trams etc? How would it work?
  3. ok thanks, I'll attend to these suggestions during course of day.
  4. My trusty old Epson D88 (W7) is not responding on the final 'print' command. I've checked all the usual suspects but no luck. It's been used on a regular basis for months, I can't think of anything recently that might be a clue. One point is that when I click on the ink levels they are greyed out which is not normal, and after the final print command, a caption appears which says check your connection, although when the lead is plugged in a notification tone is heard. Also, a notice keeps appearing saying that the driver software is being downloaded
  5. I've just put out the bins for the binthem. Remember that 60s group Themfred Them? Them the lifeboats!
  6. Yes, many of the bargain lines they had have gone although this applies to the others especially since inflation took hold. Asda prices also have increased a lot, their biscuit range is much more pricey than Aldi/Lidl.
  7. Never heard them during day, only heard call during early hours except the one here that I just managed to capture on camcorder. Only rarely seen, and a good while ago.
  8. It's almost certainly one of Cuttsie's green parrots, a loud ethereal call. I've seen them following the same route in daylight.
  9. I'll let it run a bit then I'll say what I believe it was. I have heard a local owl, although not sure which species it is.
  10. Nope, certainly a bird, been woken in the early hours before by same call, it was flying (judging by the sound) from tree to tree along the back gardens.
  11. Anyone identify the bird call? (Turn the sound up) https://i.imgur.com/mBcylXR.mp4
  12. Any Norwegian Blues? Do they talk?
  13. It's true, when I was on a college course back in mid 70s, I was supplied with a set of Stanley drivers both PoziDrive and Phillips heads, I've used them thousands of times since and the tips are almost as good as new due to the superior hardening and tempering. I've also used lots of cheaper drivers, most are like toffee and quickly wear out, however if bought for a one-off job they'll probably do. As mentioned earlier, the most common sizes for flat-packs are No 2 PoziDrive and sometimes No 2 Phillips heads (both crosspoint), and an allen hex-key, (often included in the pack of fittings).
  14. It seems many young (and old?) women make loads of dosh on the internet prancing around in skimpy costumes, so for the sake of equality (if you are male), how about that?
  15. Get some of these and hold them in a fine net bag when he sits next to you. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PFW98LD/ref=as_li_ss_tl?SubscriptionId=AKIAJO7E5OLQ67NVPFZA&ascsubtag=783923757-311-&tag=bfuk-deals-21
  16. Do you want to be a good influence or (heaven forbid) a bad influence, or something inbetween?
  17. Good point. If there is a common sewer line running through then the water co. (at least Y.W.) will be responsible, but if next door's drain connection to that line crosses the garden, then it complicates things. All this should show on the land Reg. plan, again avilable from Land Reg, in fact some info could be on the OP's plan also, as well as being obvious from the grates etc. All assuming of course that it's registered land; if next door's house has been bought/sold since 1973, then it probably will be.
  18. This depends on many factors. What are the neighbour's motives, can a boundary/fence be easily established, any possibility of rights of way over the land, is it leasehold, is it mortgaged, overriding rights etc. AFAIK solicitors don't usually give free advice for property purchase. You could ask your neighbour if you could look at a copy of his/her deeds/land certificate which he/her can obtain for a fee ( at your expense) from the Land Registry. This is the first thing a solicitor/conveyencer would do. I have no legal qualifications, just suggestions. Geoffry Shaw is a conveyancing solicitor and can give skilled advice. https://www.blbsolicitors.co.uk/blog/can-a-solicitor-act-for-both-the-buyer-and-seller-in-conveyancing/
  19. That phrase could be condidered as misandrous "micro-aggression"!
  20. That's useful for when the taxman comes a-calling. The fish business seems to be 'catching' https://spainnews.madridmetropolitan.com/2020/12/07/trans-species-man-has-fin-implants-to-his-head/
  21. Or possibly a lot of hot air. The Chinese seem a bit deflated for taking a rise out of the Americans.
  22. It would have made a cleaner cut which probably helped if the thumb could have been re-attached.
