  1. Don't think theyve raised any since the outset. There are some that I think have been raised after serious damage, they have a tarmac "collar" around the edges, these do seem to last a while.
  2. Holy bedsteads! Looks like Page Hall (not forgetting other areas in Sheffield) have a serious rival.
  3. As I understand it, it was Iran's military headquarters next door to the embassy. Bear in mind that Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map, so in that sense they are already at war.
  4. Let us have a further report tomorrow and another at the weekend.
  5. What's that, you might ask, well I'd never heard of it until I saw this video...
  6. I don't know much about them, but I would do plenty reseach on the subject before going ahead; issues such as buildings insurance increase, durability and reliability of the control systems etc. Also, possible damage to slates during installation, warranties, etc etc. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/all-you-need-to-know-about-electricity-generating-solar-panels-including-the-cost-and-benefits-plus-when-best-to-install/ar-BB1kxexC
  7. No wonder you missed the black with the end off the cue!
  8. If immigrants don't figure on the statistics, then this would imply that they are all housed and homelessness is confined mainly to indigenous people?
  9. I was surprised at the high price of veg and other foods when I holidayed in Spain lat year.
  10. Same with Lidl last night. I might even have been pursuaded even if they were hot tick (well cold tick really) but I would have "crossed" out the tick and put my own cross on them.
  11. I suffered a dent on the steel rim, I rolled the car forward so the dent was at its lowest point, then I used a short piece of steel bar (ie, a drift) about an inch thick, and using a lump hammer struck the bar (rim) hard a few times and it straightened out fairly well. The edge of the bar might have to be filed so it doesn't catch the tyre.
  12. Nope, I won't be buying any, it makes me cross and hot under the collar, they need a ticking off.
  13. When you say "indicator not put out", was it one of those cars that had the little semiphore arms that flicked up on the door pillar? 🙂
  14. I recall, (many years ago) pulling into the fuel station adjacent to Hadfields Jaguar on Sharrow Vale Rd, where two smartly dressed young ladies were offering customers a pinch of snuff. Obviously being promoted by the nearby snuff makers.
  15. The builder has probably done this, and possibly removed some internal walls as well, to render the house uninhabitable which can de-classify it from council tax.
  16. I read that getting insurance can be "challenging", considering fire, flood and storm.
  17. Yes, but the Spanish did bannish!
  18. err...err....err...but... but... yes, totally agree!
  19. That's the spirit. Nowadays if car breaks down it usually means calling AA or tow to garage and plugged in to a very expensive supercomputer.
  20. Or the throttle cable broke on my A65 recently, but managed to get back home with running repair.
  21. They had a contract for a company to water the office plants? Health and safety issue? Union rules?
  22. The speaker cabinets that I sent to Greece (I omitted to cancel the GSP option) arrived ok, however in my haste I forgot to pack the speaker grills in the boxes. Fortunately, they will go I think by Royal Mail as the weight is under 2 kg. I am sending direct to the buyer's address (at my own expense) rather than GSP. There are 2 things I am unsure about, 1. Is there a restriction on the size of a CN22 customs form (downloaded it), and 2. should they be classed as a gift, as the buyer had already paid for them in the first shipment.
  23. Correct, do not drive onto a pavement in case you hit a cyclist there.
  24. Last week I went with a friend to his flat in a N. Wales seaside town to investigate a water leak from the flat above, which was a very small attic flat on the second floor. The owner of the flat let us in and we were greeted with an horrific mess, piles of rubbish in every corner, across the floor. He had been just tossing all his rubbish in the flat for the past 18 mth , a mountain of beer cans, food/cake/chocalate wrappers etc. The owner (a youngish man) apparently had psychological issues and was grossly obese. We located the leak and fixed it, however to help both him and us we decided to clean out all the rubbish and hoover up. The toilet/ shower cubical was a sight to behold (dare not show photos!), I was shoveling "debris" off the floor with a plastering trowel. After a day and a half, it was beginning to look reasonable. my friend then bought and fitted a new toilet seat. In the pic are about 24/25 full bin bags of rubbish, we had to leave some rubbish due to time constraints but I would estimate about another 5 bags to fill. While we were there, some rep from the council came and my friend gave them a "piece of his mind" about the situation.
