  1. Hi, I need to submit scale drawings to the council for kerb-drop in front of my house, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced architect for such a small project. thanks
  2. The Victoria, Parkwood Road,Neepsend. A.K.A. - The "monkey". I believe it's a hydraulic hose/fittings company now.
  3. I have a theory although I'm sure I shall be criticized and ridiculed for it ,but here goes. It is possible that this individual is creating all this noise deliberately, possibly as a diversion tactic, attracting any local police activity towards himself and away from his colleagues who could be simultaneously committing other, unsavoury activities,e.g. burglary or drug dealing. A couple of nights ago he was riding around Stannington for at least an hour, revving his bike far more than was necessary for normal progress. he is doing this purely for attention and to annoy, and he is succeeding! Does anyone else have any theories as to his anti-social behaviour?
  4. I'd recommend John at Tax Matters on Middlewood Road. S6 The guy is a Tax guru.
  5. I'm afraid it's all too simple, every post is thinking as a law abiding citizen,(thankfully), unfortunately, all it takes is a tranny van,to obscure the cctv,3 hefty blokes, a piece of 3" x 4" between the spokes, lift and it's away.....seconds... Security? What security? Unfortunately,it doesn't exist for motorcycles. But I seriously hope the gits are caught!! Grrrrr!!!
  6. this is the response from the S.Y.P Hello Thank You for your email. Unfortunately, without knowing who the person with the CCTV is, or who at SYP they have contacted about the CCTV, we would be unable to comment on your concerns. If you are in touch with the person you mentioned, then please ask them to make contact with us on 101 to discuss. Regards South Yorkshire Police
  7. I have just sent the S.Y.P a message expressing my digust at their apathy. I fear I have probably just wasted 5 minutes of my life doing so!
  8. Hi Wonkeychef, well done for getting their pictures, have the police seen them yet? The reason I ask is that my wife had her mountain bike stolen from our garage in Stannington recently and I was wondering if it could be the people who did it. A visit to their homes may turn up some interesting finds.
  9. My expectations of ever seeing it again are not high, however, you never know, social media is a powerful tool. My fingers are crossed. ---------- Post added 19-06-2016 at 12:25 ---------- Thank you for the link Kidley,I wasn't sure how to add it.
  10. Please everyone be aware that there is a thieving scrote operating in and around Stannington. My wife has had her pride and joy stolen from inside our garage,a Whistle-Patwin mountain bike in orange and white colours. If anyone is offered one please make sure the seller has a purchase receipt otherwise you may be buying a stolen bike. Any information which would help in it's return would be welcomed.
  11. San Lorenzo's ,Northfield Road,Crookes. my wife and I have eaten there several times, the food is excellent, the prices are reasonable and the service has been second to none! ( Take your own wine ),however, the corkage charge is minimal.
  12. Hi Pattricia, my wife and I went several times in the 90's and we loved it. it is fairly quiet and retains a certain quaint,Victorian charm. we have stayed in both the Imperial, which is on the seafront and the Empire, near the pier, the latter being by far the best, however this is reflected in the price. If you choose to go make a bee-line for the King's Head Pub on the old road, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food is excellent. The town hall often has craft fairs and there is (or was) a decent pitch and putt golf course next to it. Have a good holiday!
  13. Have you tried books by Marjorie Dunn? For the Love Of Children,Abe's Legacy,From Beyond the Crooked Spire & The Maggie Kelly, the latter of which I read recently and found it to be quite a charming read.
  14. Excuse me people, but I think you are all blaming the "pampered little darlings" for this issue, however,so far I, am yet to witness one of these driving to school, yes a full 400/500 yards to school, for many. My observations appear to support that it is the "poor little pampered mummies and daddies" who are too busy/lazy or scared of getting wet ,cold or even a little out of breath by walking such distances , I am sure ALL these mums/dads etc.love THEIR little ones but show little regard for the safety of others' "ones' little ones" by making crossing the road at drop off time a game of chance. Why not give Jeremy Kyle or rushing to the gym a miss from time to time and spend some quality time with your lovely children. A ten minute walk to school ,for you, might not mean that much, however,to your child, you are creating memories(my Mum/Dad ALWAYS used to walk me to school),of course not, but, memories!! 10 minutes a day,you can't buy memories like that. QUALITY TIME!!
