  1. I remember plucking up the courage to ask for "something for the weekend". The barber lent me his fishing tackle!!!
  2. D'Lights near the top of City Road is my favourite. Thick slices of pork on soft bread. Beres stuffing is like water.
  3. The Star haven't made that much of effort this time to disguise his c*ck on their photo today.
  4. Just call me the resident Rentaghost expert. Here we go. The original three were Mr Claypole, Mr Davenport and Mr Mumford. They were employed by Mr and Mrs Meeker. Later series had the characters McWitch and Nadia Popov (Audrey from Corrie).
  5. There was an episode set in a roller disco. He seemed quite good at it.
  6. Real Radio have a theme tune competition on in the mornings. Today's theme was from Rentaghost, in keeping with the Halloween theme. This stirred some memories so I did a bit of reading about the show on the net. I was saddened to read that Micheal Staniforth, who played Mr Claypole in the series, passed away in 1987 at the young age of 44. Anyone under the age of 25 won't know what I'm on about, but I thought this would be of interest to us 30 somethings. RIP Mr Claypole (belatedly).
  7. Its been mentioned this week already, but I'm going to watch Ghostwatch this weekend. trouble is am working Sat eve, so will have to make it Sunday instead.
  8. I seem to remember that in the 1980's a large bonfire was lit on the top of the hill which was kept burning for several days. It was to commemorate the anniversary of something or other. Several beacons were lit across the country for the same reason if memory serves me correctly. Anyone remember what it was for? (Not 5 Nov BTW)
  9. The Jam. Come on Mr Weller, you know it makes sense.
  10. Is it true that the gun posts have recently been removed? Went for a wander up there a few months ago and couldn't find anything.
  11. I had to intervene in a fight yesterday between a bloke and a six foot tall grasshopper, so I can confirm there is a nasty bug going round...
  12. The phrase "Keep to the roads. Keep off the moors" often springs to mind when out walking in Derbyshire though...
  13. Sadly, no. It was filmed in a village called Crickadarn in Wales. http://www.westnet.freeuk.com/werewolf/locations.htm
  14. Used to live at Firth Park. I could hear it early in the morning when out on my paper round.
  15. Funny you should say that! http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/Car-torched-on-driveway.5533052.jp
