  1. A top bloke and a first class gesture, a story first published when season tickets went on sale, in the national press as well!! 8 weeks later the spin and PR dept at swfc fianally make a move, another PR move gets the headlines and cost the club how much ? Its all spin and verbal from the club. This is a top story, a top man, a genuine bloke and a top owl. but the story is old news. I grant you its good publicity, but again its spin and the major issues at S6 are again not being addressed, debt, stadia, takeover and season ticket sales !! Some owls fans can see through this and thats why season ticket sales are slow. I.E 2000 HAVE NOT RENEWED LAST SEASONS TICKET.
  2. stats like all accountants prove can be read in all types of ways, Kenny is judged on clean sheets but how much of that credit should or has been shared via the stats to the defence ? As for Quinn !! who had a poor season. well the stats were very creative. Accountants Bah !!
  3. When they all come back off their holiday, perhaps you can ask the question. Why 2000 loyal supporters , last years season ticket holders have not or are not renewing this year!! or may be thats the question the chairman should be addressing..
  4. RE THE 2000 NON RENEWALS ? On your very own website under the article season ticket sales soar past 10,000.......i.e 10,200
  5. 2000 have not renewed last years season ticket !
  6. Kaven Walker shot himself in the foot after a rally and a cheap ticket offer he called on radio sheffield for fans to turn up on mass, Radio sheffield asked a direct question , "so how many fans are you expecting for the match?" the reply "a full house would be nice, but 35,000 a realistic figure" just under 25,000 turned up, a few days later Kaven had gone.
  7. UNITED announced over 18,500 already sold via renewals, general sale starts tomorrow. 19000 therefor a realistic figure.
  8. AltyOwl you are a reasonable poster, your not a hot head, As a season ticket holder myself, one always wishs to renew a season ticket and your seat asap. Blade fans renewed and have increased last years sales. Why are the Owl season ticket holders being so slow in renewing their seats? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The club has extended deadlines twice. You state theres a lot more optimism down your way now, and the chairman is bullish.
  9. Another verbal triumph from the chairman, a promise that has and will not cost him a penny ! The season ticket offer, the pressman offer, the openness on website!! all free its all spin. I do not think the Owls supporters are daft enough to be influenced by such minor statements. Its all spin and talk from the chairman, the fans can see through this and after years of bull****, the season ticket figures tell the story. Mr chairman "Put up or shut up" coz nowts changed. you talk the talk. thats all.
  10. Many buisness men have ideas, its having the skills and bootle to use them, a brave chairman with money behind him is a real asset. A buisness man, with out the financial backing or a stable board, will always find it hard to compete in his choosen field. But shall try to convience the buying public the company has benifits to offer over its rivals. So OWLS whats the wednesday got to offer ?
  11. No matter what spin, or from what ever angle you wish to attack the Blades, United are in a much healthier position on and off the pitch, than Wednesday can ever hope to be in the near future. You forget to address the topic of Wednesdays assets, while mis spelling my title. An over sight no doubt.
  12. ASSETS , assets, assets, United have loads. The owls ? a run down stadium and own half an unsaleable training ground, this with £25/30 million of debt. Shows like the season ticket sales yet again the figures and clubs are miles apart.
  13. Envy do you not love it !! SHEFFUTD 18000 V THEIR 9000 SEASON TICKET SALES FACT
  14. Come on Mr Benn, our crowds average over 26,000 on a capacity of 31,000 at maximum we had only 5000 glory hunters in the premiership. Work with the facts, you will not look so daft next time.
  15. I would suggest pressman just missed out on the big wages, a loyal owl who always saved his best for playing against the Blades. An ex united player of the same era, i personally knew had a PFA pension of less than £300 per month. The real big money has only in the last few years kicked in. Are you not being a little harsh Crooksey.
  16. But thats my point, why would someone want to buy a club with not only £30m debt over their head but with a massive future bill to modernise the now tired stadia. Why not buy a smaller club and invest £20m for the team and have not only the financial reward but the possible reward of success with far less risk. Just an example, Buy a club like Rotherham, for what? a few million, debt free, invest in a stadia and players, with a little success would that not be more rewarding than buying a Wednesday and waiting decades for your investment to pay.
  17. With so many clubs up for sale, who would want to take on Wednesdays debt? Portsmouth, Southampton, Notts County, Darlington, Norwich , Newcastle and most of the scottish teams plus others English clubs are also up for grabs. Some with less debt, more potential, a modern stadia. .
  18. I need to sit down again:) i agree !! thats twice in one thread i have agreed with a rival:)
  19. I agree:) , i and others do come across like that, but from my point of view i would never try to have a go at genuine supporters, be it Wednesday or Raith Rovers. Its the "stay away fans" who normally shout loudest. The "i prefer to play golf on a Saturday, unless its a big game " you know the ones. all clubs, all forums have them.
  20. As a former London blade of 15 years i can assure you your information is not correct, i also have a group just formed on the net which i shall pm you. Just to show a sample of the exiles. I can point you not only to many uk blades but to many worldwide blades, nothing new there All clubs can boast such a following including Wednesday. facebook exiled blades far out numbers exiled owls. But this is not a case of we have more exiles than you both clubs have many travelling fans, i saw them in over 20 years of nationwide travel.
  21. UTTER **** !! the season tickets sold have on the whole been renewals (including mine), loyal blades bought sesaon tickets again, based on loyalty and a good season, much better than the year previous. OWL thats 18,000 renewals. If we had gone up then the usual "walk ins" plus the chancers and part timers may have jumped on the band wagon and took that figure to 25,000 as on our previous visit to the premiership. Any member here met or spoke to any one who bought on the basis we were going up? "I HEARD" !! RUBBISH ...most fans bought when their present seats were due for renewal. FACT, it also follows a much reduced figure would have been sold since the play off, FACT. Forget your ill informed rumours and work in published figures United have sold over 18,000 Wednesday over 9000 season tickets FACT. I have no doubt that figure shall close to maybe 19000 against 12000 but that is only my opinion not a FACT. Owl fans have been a lot slower in their renewals (fact) for some reason, may be leaving it to the last minute or a possible loss of faith after so much hassle , disappointment and false takeovers are now voting with their feet. But am sure you have bought yours Bevowley.
  22. I agree a development on academy strikers would be a major plus.
  23. Young , sheffield born and bred !! if a first teamer narrows it down to 3, i have known players an ex players well, and yes we try to pump them for information but usually you get news of the dressing room banter. Not a managers full view of possible targets. The players are usually the last to know of proposed deals, its unsettling for some players who may feel threatened by incoming players. If the posting is true, we have one very young , very enthusiatic blade with possible future managment potential.
  24. Now now !! the club have said ticket sales are up 25% on the same period last year.
