  1. I think this is a little unfair. For example, my own company is seeking £1M of investment (and we are getting close to completing it...fingers, toes and everything else crossed ;-)); is this the level of investment the OP is talking about? Plus, for example, some investors will not want to invest in businesses involved in manufacturing munitions for war (we're not BTW!). I think it is quite reasonable to understand more about the OP's interests so we can answer the questions considerately.
  2. I'm not quite clear what you are asking. Are you an investor or are you looking for investment?

  4. You could always try contacting Ian Powell at Aspire...he is very entrtaining on LinkedIn LOL https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-powell-02386b7
  5. I would try contacting the council first as they are major employers of social workers.
  6. Waldo, not necessarily . With a limited liability company, the company's liability is limited (normally £1K), sorry for stating the bleeding obvious but what I mean is, if things go wrong for the OP (and as long as he has kept within the law), then creditors can only pursue him for assets in the business (assuming the OP hasn't agreed to assign any personal assets as security)...plus the £1K. This way he protects creditors pursuing other assets (such as the home). The downside is the need to keep accounts (which isn't a bad practice anyway) and record them at Companies House.
  7. You might want to repost this to the 'sticky' at the top?
  8. And here lies one of your challenges. The average person would not know this so wouldn't think of coming to your museum...you will need a sizeable marketing budget to promote the idea. However the idea of having a fun place for parents to go baking with their kids could well have appeal, but the last thing I would do is call it a museum ("c'mon kids we're off to a museum" vs "c'mon kids, we're off to that fun place to make pies and stuff").
  9. Posted on my LinkedIn account...not sure how many Wednesday fans will turn up though
  10. Please don't be too hard, initially I did laugh myself but if you are serious about this, I suggest you spend a lot of time researching this. Most museums do not charge (and there are plenty of them to choose from). Plus would kids really want to go to a rolling pin museum (and I'm struggling to think how they have changed over the years!) Your start up costs will be fairly high (irrespective of what you display in your museum), so breaking even will be a challenge. If this is a joke, nice one If it isn't, please think it through thoroughly!
  11. This is still the way they are made, however we have come up with a method for 3D Printing soft tissue prostheses We've also come up with a solution for 3D Printing Ocular Prostheses as well. It would be useful to know more about the issues to do with the surrounding soft tissue.
  12. Fancy Dragons Den by 'Royal Appointment' http://pitchatpalace.com/ ? ---------- Post added 22-08-2016 at 17:20 ---------- Vouchers are no longer available.
  13. Given any thought in training to be a hospital maxillo facial prosthetist? I know the profession are worried about the ageing profile of their practitioners. As an aside, we've worked out how to 3D Print platinum/addition curing silicones. You can see how we do it at http://www.picsima.com Good luck for the future.
  14. For what purpose is the address being registered? For company registration or for vendors to invoice to? For company registration (with companies house), it does not really matter. However for invoicing purposes, it could affect your landlords credit rating, in the future, if your friend defaults. I'm surprised that your Landlord is allowing this; have you checked the terms of the lease you signed? He could be using this as a way to get you out of his property!!!
  15. To answer your question. A mentor is someone who provides support to someone. A mentor's role is primarily to give guidance, support and to make sure the individual being mentored does what they say they will do i.e. to hold them to account (in a positive way ) It is different to consultancy. Consultancy is where you pay someone for specific advice and expertise. I do not know of any Government sponsored scheme where you have yo pay for a mentor as a condition of getting a grant. The mentor is normally provided as part of the grant.
  16. This chap is an expert in employment issues (it is his day job!)...I was wondering if the OP was a junior doctor by any chance???
  17. If you are based in the Sheffield City Region, then contact the SCR Growth Hub. Good luck with your business.
  18. I don't think there is anything you can do. There is no contract and they contact you 'ad hoc' for work. My advice would be to find another security firm to work for. I'd also suggest you get an employment contract, even if 'zero hours' (which in my day were known as 'part time' contracts). Good luck with finding work.
  19. Do you have anything in writing/an employment contract?
  20. Cheryl, Google provide a tool for this very purpose (not surprisingly!) https://adwords.google.co.uk/KeywordPlanner
  21. If you are in the Sheffield City Region, contact the growth hub http://sheffieldcityregion.org.uk/growth-hub/ Good luck with your venture...execution will be a lot of blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights
  22. Here's your chance to use social media...assuming they are on Twitter why not send them a tweet 'pls train your drivers to drive safely. We're fed up with taking calls about your company'...that should get a reaction (and I'd retweet for sure!).
  23. Cheryl, Listen to Stefan's advice (L00b). He is a very good patent attorney here in Sheffield. Your challenge will be who created their logo first (i.e. who had 'prior art'). It may well be that they were using their logo before you created yours. If that is the case, you might have to consider changing your own. This is a classic scenario why companies register their trademarks (as any 'prior art' is likely to be found in searches). I hope it works out for you
  24. Not sure if this is good value or not. However I'd focus more on the reputation of the solicitor, rather than their costs. Signing a lease is a big financial commitment that you do not want to get wrong. The very best of luck with your business.
