Why on earth would you want to cross the entire city. I could walk to the other end of town in 30 minutes from nether edge. -

Been running my own companies and businesses for 19 years. 6 years at business school. I understand. But what point are you trying to make exactly? You and cyclone should get together and discuss this. -

Companies dont exist. They are a fiction. When you say the company pays for this and that, who are you referring to exactly? -

Youve no idea how big companies raise capital on an individual basis, im sure the chairman of next on £4 million is not riskIng his personal inherited wealth. ---------- Post added 29-10-2015 at 11:01 ---------- And youre completely wrong anyway. Revenue is generated from the output of the workforce. -
Many disabled people have worked for years and then become either mentally or physically unable to work or hold down a job.

Profits are generated by hard working staff. its right that they should receive compensation in the form of a fair wage. ---------- Post added 29-10-2015 at 10:41 ---------- http://www.politics.co.uk/reference/national-minimum-wage according to this the NMW was introduced in 1999. Not that its in the slightest bit relevant. Ive been working since i was 14, my first job was helping out on the milkround for £1.50 per hour. So the answer is yes. -
Welfare systems a mess and having an advisor at food banks just going to add to the problem

A 30 minute walk isn't close or classed as neighbourhood. I can get to a variety of places within 5 minutes. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 22:28 ---------- Another 167 quid is not to be sniffed at. -

New labour are the culprits. Not tories. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 22:22 ---------- In your mind. I actually said more of the profits of mne should go somewhere else than private shareholders pockets. -

Just ridiculous now, not even gonna counter a strawman argument. I have never said profit is bad and we or businesses can't make profits. So you need to think of another tactic sunshine. -

A living wage solves a lot of problems. Better than a high welfare low wage society ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 22:12 ---------- Some possible downsides, not even looking at the myriad of advantages. That's typical of your narrow minded view. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 22:14 ---------- If costs increase higher than income. I don't think that will happen in the majority of cases. They said a similar thing before NMW introduction. -

The tories are right on this one. a move to a high wage, low welfare economy is best They just go about it too savagely. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 16:42 ---------- Really. Instead of private shareholders, more money goes into the economy via the people who produce it. -

Controversial Al, care to explain? ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 16:38 ---------- youre dreaming. I work on a 1000% mark up. what must tesco etc work on? 4000%? The better companies will survive nicely. Profits are unpaid wages. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 16:38 ---------- youre dreaming. I work on a 1000% mark up. what must tesco etc work on? 4000%? Its not a rise directly in line with inflation. Inflation is artificially low due to price of crude oil. Its actually a rise above inflation. But only a few pence and still the rise will be worth it, for the reasons stated. Plus the bonus of reduced welfare bill. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 16:28 ---------- Whitbread said the price of coffee goes up 5p above inflation. Next say 1% above inflation. Its not inflated away. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 16:30 ---------- Its a price rise. But dont overstate matters. if you add on £2 to nmw thats about £400 extra per month. -

And whats the other consequence...prices go up. ---------- Post added 28-10-2015 at 15:19 ---------- Prices go up...it doesnt automatically follow people lose their jobs. Although it might work out that way for some. -
