  1. Just seen this on the BBC sports website. The car in front crashed and debris hit Justin on the head. He is in a critical condition after being airlifted to hospital. Let's keep it positive and hope that he receives the best treatment possible and makes a full recovery.
  2. tzijlstra....is your Health warning reading or reading bearing in mind tonights match?
  3. Yes, well done for salvaging a draw. Rats!
  4. This is brilliant. What a night!
  5. My pal is now taking his two year old grandson to home matches. What's Childline's number....lol
  6. To be honest I've always wanted both Sheffield clubs to do well but I got some right stick when we lost 4-0 at Gillingham. I hope that what goes round comes round and Wednesday get stuffed. Every match.
  7. Knew that Ferguson went a few months ago but had to look up who manages now. Dave Robertson.....and I bet I'm not the only one who had no idea. Ex Royal Marine!
  8. Very sad news. Condolences to all the family. What a forum contributor though......over 63,000 posts. RIP
  9. I'm useless at forecasting, so will go for 0-2 and hope I'm wrong. UTB
  10. In three days as well! Reckon Scarborough is the place to go for next years holidays. Not only were we missing the England lads but Jack Brooks wasn't playing either. I think we have to go to the season before last to see when we last lost. Seem to remember Joe Root captained the side for his one and only time. Got called Craptain after that. Well done Yorkshire CCC
  11. Forgot to check out my crap teams score. I think I got confused which was which but they only managed a draw. Only comfort is England winning the Ashes and Yorkshire CCC amazing second innings courtesy of Australian and England rejects.
  12. What an item to have on your CV. Stuffed by a team that are there to make up the numbers. Flippin' shell shocked. Can't wait for the new season.
  13. As usual, my prediction wrong already!
  14. Speedy....this is usually the best week of the season for us! Let us have a few days of high hopes with lots of goals, attractive football, unbeaten at home, no injuries and a manager that lasts the season.
  15. Get the first match of the new season in nice and early. Sometimes it appeared a struggle last season. Looking at the league table they are 12th and the Blades are just out of the relegation battle in 19th.......both with 0 points! Their had pre season matches against Portsmouth and Dover (a few extra players appeared on the return journey!) I'll go for a 0-2 win and lets just hope my enthusiasm and getting the score right continue. UTB
  16. Thanks greenman forgetting an update on to the Forum so quickly. My pal went to see Wednesday yesterday. He was well chuffed with the result, the new players, the pitch and a crowd of over 9000. Now, I can't see any mention hs been made of our new pitch so far. Any comments? As you say, roll on next week. I can see some really optimistic forecasts! UTB
  17. I looked up this post not having a clue what Desiderata was. It's a real eye opener and just what we need to remind ourselves of life. In fact I'm going to get my daughter to make me a poster, which is what she does, acknowledging the copyright of course. Thanks to billiej and snowglobe for alerting me to this.
  18. Front Runner in Sharrow Vale is owned by Michael's two sons, Stephen and John. John, in particular, is a very good marathon runner. He finished 37th in this years London marathon.
  19. Thought I'd ask supporters of other clubs who their current longest serving player is and basically they haven't a clue. Teams change so much in such a short period of time due to managerial changes its no wonder. Thanks for the responses. Next question....how many pies did Pressman work his way through in nearly 17 years....
  20. Just been reading that Theo Walcott is now Arsenal's current longest serving player having signed for them in 2006. It beggars belief who the current longest serving players at SUFC and SWFC are........any ideas? I haven't got a clue by the way.
  21. Look no further than Spain! Convenient, Cost, Climate.....ticks the boxes.
  22. I knew a girl that worked on the biscuit counter where they sold broken biscuits. One day they ran out of broken biscuits which a customer wanted so she picked up some perfectly good biscuits and broke them and sold them at the reduced price!
  23. Thanks Veritas. Zoff must be the only one although some card will no doubt mention Chris Turner.
  24. Yes, a great appointment. How many ex-goalkeepers have gone on to be good/great managers. I can't think of one. Lets hope there's an exception here.
  25. In Woody's era we can still name the team 40 years on. I'd struggle to name last seasons team! A true hero of many and gone far too early. Condolences to the family.RIP
