Stephen Carley's studio
12Ă12x5: Intermittent loud noise and quieter sounds
Sat 13 - Sun 14 June 11am - 3pm

The concentration will be fully on process, ideas, context and communication with an audience and build up a coherent body of work filtered by the structure of 12X12 and the monthly interaction with an audience.
Intermittent loud noise and quieter sounds will feature needles stuck in the groove, spinning records, A jelly castle, dust, an idyllic scene and a blackboard for you add your own thoughtsâŠ

Opening event at Sylvester Space
happenstance
Weds 17 June 6-9pm
Every year the final year MA Contemporary Fine Art students at Sheffield Hallam University show their work at the end of their course in an exhibition open to the public. This year the show will present works from seven artists. The work on show is the culmination of a period of intense and focused investigation of critical theory and their individual art practices.
The artistsâ diversity is reflected in the show happenstance âa letting go, a handâs off strategy, an embracing of chance and contingency allowing the unexpected and unplanned to surface.â

Sheffield Contemporary Art Forum has commissioned a new video podcast, showing artists Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth talking about their work in Glare , a new exhibition at S1 Artspace.
Glare is an exhibition of newly commissioned work by the two artists. Video-making has an inherent connection with light and in this series of new digital video works, Coleman and Hogarth explore the processes of making and destroying visual effects through the depiction of light and reflective surfaces âperformingâ to the camera.
