  1. Which ever way I look at it, disrupting the services at Britain's iconic cathedral on that one day of the years is disrespectful. Think of the people who were planning to attend. The World War II veteran's might not get many more chances to attend such services. Also, if the protesters are still there after all that time they will be nothing but an annoyance. They won't influence government policy, nor the policy of the financial giants, so really, what's the point?
  2. Of course it can. If he feels the protesters outside are causing a problem that he cannot overcome for the day then the right thing to do is for them to bog off home for the weekend!! What have we got here? One group cluttering up the street to annoy people(and that is why they are there), and one group remembering the war dead of the United Kingdom. No brainer, surely?
  3. Yes they should move on!! They were shown courtesy in the early days, and now they are inconveniencing the cathedral that gave it, they should show some thanks!! I heard, although don't know how true this is, that they had said the protesters would be happy if they kept it closed for Remembrance Sunday. If that's true they really need to look at themselves in the mirror.
  4. Suppose a 10" one would better, I am looking for the best pound for pound value really. I am a picky buyer! Will probably debate for six months then decide to wait. On a side note...there seems to be a swathe of Android tablets going on Ebay for next to nothing. I had heard that it's even fake Android! I presume they will be next to unusable?
  5. Thanks guys, had a good look around. The one which is the right price and does everything I need would be the Amazon Kindle Fire. No Euro release date though! Damn.
  6. Thanks a lot for your answers!!! I still looking at them, I didn't know they didn't have usb and hdd functionality! I am kinda tempted by reading books and magazines and the like on it whilst not sat at a desk on the internet........guess people are doing all that and more as per your replies! As for the non-apple equivalent....any suggestions on one?
  7. I've been considering purchasing an iPad 2, cus they look rather handy. My concern is that it's a lot of cash to pay if I will still spend most of my "computer time", on my desktop. What do you guys use your iPads for? Do you spend a lot of time on them? What's the handiest thing about them? Also, is it worth paying extra for the 3G functionality?
  8. Ok so when you said "The far-right uses the argument that black and white are so far apart genetically that biologically we have to live separate existences in order to thrive.", you meant all of the groups in that spectrum think that right? You're getting a little confusing John X. Or wrong.
  9. I can't see it. I know some groups may have the idea that they don't want black blood in their gene pool to avoid "tainting" it, but these are surely on the most extreme end of "the far right". Would I be correct in my understanding that white supremacism is actually different to having "far right" views? Or is does your definition of the far right equal white supremacism?
  10. I don't think many people on the far right say we need to live separate existences to thrive? What is this based on John? People might say there is no need for us to live together right here in this country, but that's a far cry from the above? Also, in relation to racial differences, seems to me some people won't accept any thought of differences even though evidence supports differences(as Mr Bojangles says). Why? The differences are tiny, what's the problem?
  11. Also, you can replace "Nazi" and "Racist" with any term related to someone with "repugnant" views.....as this is what people do fear. If not then why isn't the subject spoken about more and debated fairly? You can't say that it is as a whole. And please don't say because it's not relevant because it clearly is.
  12. I ain't bothered about being called a Nazi, because I can see straight past it, as per my post. Actually I do apologise for singling you out, that was not well thought out. However, there are some similar suspicions I have about you smearing people with views to the right, but not going to go over that again.* Your comment "I have never called anyone a Nazi - apart from Roy James" intrigues me. I dunno who he is!! *Would you please change it now?
  13. This seems like quite a lot of fantasy to me. Yeah we have had swathes of people from Scandinavia and from the continent, but this is a little different to the Africans and Asians coming from outside the continent in numbers never seen before. I am sure that the people within Europe will have pottered about a bit over the years. As for Britain not existing, weren't the people here in the Iron Age the "Britons"?
  14. It appears those particular groups have fallen down because of bad management and, in the case of the EDL, the drunken behaviour on their marches. A lot of idiots have jumped on that bandwagon admittedly. A couple of points to consider though. Just because these groups are failing in their administration does not mean the key points at the core of them are invalidated. Since the Second World War people have tried to stay as far away from the ideals of National Socialism and what happened in Europe. This, of course, is a good thing but I believe it has led to a lot of issues that have and are arising being ignored due to fear of being in anyway "far right" or "fascist". People fear letting on that they have reservations about immigration and the changing demographics because they feel that someone is going to shout "Nazi" at them. Someone quite like you John X. People then get on with their lives and don't support the parties that speak out against immigration etc for fear of being branded. Now, I don't know what you do in your spare time, and what circles you socialise in, but I certainly see A LOT of "silent support" for these groups. The EDL were once leafleting near a football game I went to last year, and there was plenty of people there reading the leaflets and heartily agreeing with them over a pint. Many a complaint is heard in the pubs I have been in over the years, even to this day. These people just simply "don't count", because they don't go marching or vote BNP. We simply don't know how things are going to pan out in multicultural Britain. And it there is nothing wrong with wanting to slow the change. We, as individuals, would do well to realise we are only in the country for a short time. People simply don't care if the country is heading to big problems in fifty years, simply because they won't be here. So people think with their hearts, and support letting anyone come to the country without a thought of how the many thousands of years of humanity has proven that different cultures segregate themselves over the world.
  15. I've looked into it a few times over the years. There are some who seem amazing, and people who witness them will go away and say what they saw was paranormal, which creates a kind of "urban myth" that there is something real about them. I think that some of these people who perform get such a response that they actually come to believe that they are actually doing something amazing. In reality it's a very clever show that will give people half ideas that they can make mean whatever they want. There was a show done by Derren Brown which illustrated this perfectly. I don't know much about the spiritualist church, have met some people from there who actually gave me the creeps with the stuff they were coming out with. I never discount anything though, if anyone has got some stories where people seem to have done things that COULD NOT have been guessed I would love to hear them.
  16. This for real? £100 for a filter? They really were taking the mickey on that claim! Did she pay it? As for the original post, Sky could/would only charge for the equipment if the minimum contract term had not been fulfilled. I do, however, get letters from companies pretending to BE from Sky asking me to pay them to "insure" it.
  17. Did I hear the pot calling out there?????
  18. It's an old story this one!!! Is it something you're interested in, this getting off on strange objects or devices?
  19. I must say how pleasantly surprised I am to see all these threads started to show Labour support are actually proving to show the opposite!! Less people are blinkered when viewing the Labour party than I thought! Which is great in my book!
  20. Is there any way or place we can see where the money is going? Serious question.
  21. What do you think Labour were doing better? And what was growth like in their last few years in office, not just at the end?
  22. What do you think the government would need to do to change the situation?
  23. I couldn't work out what that was supposed to be!! Rape gangs is the only one that fits in the context he says it. Ray guns seems to be what people want him to have said tho!
  24. It's truly amazing weather! Managed to get out for a wander in the country this afternoon and don't think I have seen a more perfect day all year!!
