  1. I got diverted by police just after the accident. It was a bit of a mess. Clearly at least 4 cars involved. I wasn't aware of the outcome but it didn't look good. I believe the limit was reduced as another person died there only a few weeks ago. It is a real accident black spot as people accelerate like mad away from the roundabout only to find cars on the other side doing the exact same thing on the overtaking and the end result is never good.
  2. Thank you Vegas1. Thats the website (among others) I've been on for ages trying to get anything out of it but its utter pants. Your link takes me straight to what I need, thank you. I guess having the latest version of a modern browser holds you back these days Much appreciated.
  3. Not yet. I thought such a simple piece of information would be listed on other the schools website or the councils. Apparently a 37 minute walk to a bus stop for a 15 minute bus ride is acceptable to according to traveline. Your link shows promise (better than traveline) however I can't see the map except for the stop icons. No roads or anything. Apparently the site has or is shutting down so Im guessing the map part has been taken down already.
  4. Ok Im finding this very simple task particularly difficult today and it REALLY shouldn't be... Apparently there is a free school bus from Killamarsh to Eckington school. All I want to know is what the bloody number of the bus is and where it stops. Simple really but i've spent the last 30 minutes trying to extract this information from the internet. The council website says 'we don't put route information here but may do in future, visit the school website for more information'. So I go there and there is no mention of any bus routes at all. I don't know the area as we are moving there shortly so I can't even pick out which company to contact to see if they may be the bus company that run the school bus. Any map I do find (all two of them) is terrible with no route info like times or bus numbers so its practically a line drawn on a map. Can someone please point me in the direction of somewhere that contains at least some information that might help me deduce the rest or even better simply shows a map with stops, times and the bus number. Apparently Hastings is a 20 minute walk from Killamarsh in NE Derbyshire according to East Midlands traveline website. Thank you
  5. I used to keep African Cichlids. They are 'mouth brooders' which mean that they spawn eggs then keep them in their mouths until they hatch and then eventually swim free. When you are breeding them and wanting to save as many fry as possible (some get eaten)many people 'strip' the fish by holding the fishes mouth open and allowing the fry to swim free for collection. Its not difficult to do this and most African cichlids mouths are much smaller than a goldfishes. If your gold fish mouth is somewhat covered (it can't be fully as it would die as has been explained) you can open to try and free it up a little and maybe take away a bit of the fungus. A bit like picking a scab Regarding the flakes, crush them up a bit (not too much) so they are smaller pieces but definitely look into getting some kind of treatment if the one you tried didn't work. There are all kinds of stuff available for various ailments. The main cause of disease in fish tanks/ponds is poor quality water however. You need to keep on top of that to keep disease at bay. In the 'fish keeping' hobby it is said you don't actually keep fish, you rather 'keep water' for fish to live in. Goldfish are very hardy fish so with this one being ill it could mean your water parameters are quite out of whack and any other fish you have will go the same way. Check out http://www.puregoldfish.com for help. Hope that helps.
  6. Howdy, Im moving to Killamarsh very soon. We have 3 dogs and would like to know where is a good place to walk the dogs in the mornings before work. I know Rother Valley is near by etc but I mean a quick 20 minute walk somewhere very local to the Premier Shop and two small roundabouts on Rotherham Road. I can see on GoogleMaps many patches of grass but they are all fenced off and don't seem like public land. Any ideas please? Try and be quite descriptive as I don't know the area very well just yet. Refer to GoogleMaps if needs be.

  8. Theres a brand new 6 bedroom house up for sale in Darnall. Has been for ages. Asking price is £110,000. Says it all really.
  9. I've just seen two, seemingly escorting an airliner on a westerly bearing. Right over the centre of Sheffield at 12.40pm today. Looked like and sounded like two Typhoons. A good distance between all 3 aircraft but all 3 travelling in same direction at same speed and altitude with the airliner flanked either side.
  10. Completely the opposite side of Sheffield for where I wanted to be I meant
  11. Howdy, Im potentially moving to Peatfield Road (Norwood estate?). Whats that little estate like? It looks nice and quiet and away from the rest of Killamarsh. I from near Sheffield centre so know pretty much nothing about Killamarsh. Thanks ---------- Post added 28-01-2015 at 11:14 ---------- It seems Killamarsh must of been at the centre of some kind of zombie apolocypse. Has everyone there died?
  12. I completely agree with you Jimbo. Thats why I was caught out too. No signs saying complete closure. I saw the M18 closure matrix signs and thought thats ok as it doesn't affect me, got off the M1 to find the Parkway completely closed! If you followed the stupid diversion to the end it actually takes you to the far side of Meadowhall!!! Completely the opposite side of Sheffield!
  13. I was caught out last night at 10.30pm, coming south off the M1 only to find the parkway shut. No signs no nothing, just a hideously thought out diversion right into Rotherham! Why didn't they just take you back on to the M1 and off at the next junction?! It added 30 minutes onto my journey when at the far end of the Parkway I am less than 10 minutes from my house!!! At 10.30pm last night they were doing road works or so it seemed but on my way out of Sheffield earlier in the evening I did notice a few cars with hazards on at the side around 6.40pm?! Luckily I don't seem to have seen any ill effects to my car.
  14. Blundells are often in breach of their own contracts and as a landlord I won a case against them because of it. As a buyer/renter they ram properties down your throat with pushy sales people even when you are not interested and tell them so. I had to literally take my girlfriend by the hand and walk her out of the store in Chesterfield as she was being bullied into viewing a property she wasn't interested in. Right now Im awaiting a response to a complaint I have against Reeds Rains. When you pay such high fees you expect a good service. Unfortunately I have yet to experience that with any agent. One I can say good things about although it wasn't for property reasons it was for advice on how to deal with the incredibly poor service at Blundells was Castle Estate Agents in Dronfield. I spoke to the MD and he graciously took time out of his lunch break to have a chat with me about my options with regards to my situation at the time. Regarding letting a property, as I do, I used William H Brown to advertise and vet my tenants. Cant remember the fee involved, it was 'reasonable'. They drew up the agreement and continue to hold the bond. My current tenants have been in for two years and I manage the property myself (no paying £60 a month for an agent to do jack ****). In the two years they have been in I have not heard a peep from the tenants apart from to check my phone number was still valid. I've called them once in a while to check everything is ok with them and everything is fine. From experience I would manage the property yourself as it will save you massive amounts of money and you hardly have to do anything if your property is up to spec.
  15. The ginnal between Newfield Green Road and Daresbury Close/Drive is a mecca for scrap thieves. Or at least it was as most of it has been taken. Now they are literally taking the fences from the back of peoples gardens. Some of it is very heavy corrugated sheet metal that is galvanised (not even sure you can scrap it?). One day i walked up there and some guys fence was half hanging off as though someone got disturbed trying to prise it off the wood frame. When I came back the fence was all over the path and I had to step on the fencing to get down the path. I think they realised it was far too heavy to actually take it but they still ripped it down. A new wooden fence has now been put in place. There used to be some thieving scroats in the house at the bottom of the ginnal. They had a scrap van and one day I actually saw them the other side of one of the fences in someones garden stealing some metal stuff so I reported them. The police just say 'yeh we know about them'. If they know about them then why are they allowed to get away with it?! I haven't seen the van for a while, it possible they've moved on but the metal thieving is rampant in the area as is fly tipping now. Thats gone through the roof! Daresbury Close is a garbage infested craphole and it seems people that have recently moved in are responsible. Regularly burning rubbish then dumping the waste in the woods. Now its got the the point they just dump the bin bags in the woods. Its disgusting. Its so bad now that there are seagulls regularly over the area. Ive not seen seagulls since the 80's when the dump it site at Blackstock road was an open air site! Thats how bad it is!
