  1. We tried a takeaway from here a couple of months ago after hearing lots of good things about it. It certainly was expensive but the food was very disappointing... all the currys tasted and looked the same. Maybe it's different if you eat in....
  2. Can always try black circles to get a good idea of price (or order from them and they fit them at a local garage): http://www.blackcircles.com/ You tend to find a lot of garages will try to match their prices anyway if you mention where you've seen it.
  3. Yep... I think the staff leave a lot to be desired sometimes... I mentioned this on a thread about a year ago and got laughed out of the forum! One of our group had a soft drink which turned out to be flat - on returning it to the bar I was met with a very rude - you've picked up an old (full!) drink that's been sat and has gone flat, nothing for you reaction. We all took our drinks back to the bar and walked out... not been back in since... Shame as in previous visits I'd made, they had some decent ales on... just turned out that once I got to experience how they handle problems...
  4. I too get a much better signal on T-Mobile than with O2 throughout sheffield. You can also register to use the orange network too now (since orange and t-mobile have now merged) if you register you phone number here: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/share/ You can then switch between networks if you have trouble in any areas (although you won't get maximum data rates on your non-native network.)
  5. I believe it was... it was on the shelves with the bitters for some reason! Yeh - Makro is cheapest if you have/know someone with a card...
  6. Morrisons has just started stocking it (large bottle was £1.65 in Hillsborough.) Can also buy cases of the 330ml bottles from Makro if you have a trade card
  7. Yep - that was pretty much my last experience of the Wig and Pen (and when I stopped regularly going in there.) Service became dreadful and I ended up walking out without buying anything the last time due to very poor service in a empty room.
  8. Yep, twas very nice indeed, from what I can remember: Bitter: Salamander Porter Marshmellow A Mild + 2 others 1 house bitter on tap? Lager: 3 continentals Cider: 1 handpull scrumpy 1 tap scrumpy Stout: Farmers Stout on tap
  9. Agreed on that - had many an enjoyable session in there and some amazing food before the refurb/they got rid of the head chef. After the refurb... service struggled, bad beer and medicore food...
  10. Yep - another vote for these guys... very friendly and do a cracking job.
  11. Anyone know rough prices for repairs? Someone ran down the my front wing and messed up my alloy while I was in the hospital yesterday... wondering if it'd be cheaper to sort it myself rather than pay the excess on an insurance claim...
  12. No... Surely the Waggle Dance was where it was at... I remeber it being rammed to the rafters and lovely beer
  13. Yep - I had a very tasty pint... staff were still getting to grips with things but very friendly... Will be back
  14. The Dram Shop certainly sells beers from most of those breweries... The Brew Company is the harder one to get hold of in bottles tho.. If you're stocking up, the dram shop can be expensive... another good (and cheaper place) for ale is the Archer Road Beer Stop. They also sell beer on draft in 4 pint bottles.
