Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking - it worked for me...
BoroughGal replied to Draggletail's topic in General Discussions
Sorry for my yearly "Allen Carr Ressurection". But, just wanted to say "Yay me" again. It'll be my 3rd smoke free anniversery at the end of this month. Not had ONE cigarette in that time and not wanted one. Hope everyone else on this thread is still succeeding. -
Agreed. Isn't that the point though, that it's only every struggling "has been's" (or "never were's")? People with careers worth anything wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. And, furthermore, I think that the Z listers are perfectly entitled to be called celebrities - that's all they are. Actresses, models, writers etc, would surely call themselves by their profession rather than "celebrity".

Who owns the car park in Hillsborough Park?
BoroughGal replied to depoix's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Except when I was growing up, that bottom bit was park, not car park. It was turned into car park for the football, which doesn't seem fair. The park was given to the people of Hillsborough as a gift, claimed by Sheffield City Council as their own, and then practically given away to a private company - one that only a proportion of the people of Hillsborough are interested in... PS.... Hullo there, long time no see and all that... x -
Who owns the car park in Hillsborough Park?
BoroughGal replied to depoix's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I'm sure Hillsborough Park was a private gift to the people of Sheffield, and that the council have no right to sell it on. I might have to do some Googling to back this up now. -
We're in Barnsley and can see a full sky from Doncaster right though to Norton and across to Lodgemoor. They were definitely chinese lanterns, set off at midnight. They were travelling faster than normal but weren't UFO's. For the people that have never seen chinese lanterns before, you aren't able to argue that they're NOT - just take it from those that HAVE seen them before.

Chris Morris is my all time comedy hero. Love him.

I have a Toshiba, no problems with losing channels. -
Has anyone had a gastric bypass recently?
BoroughGal replied to pammy's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
You're much better using a specialist forum for this sort of thing, you'll get sensible answers to your concerns and a lot less prejudice. http://wlsinfo.org.uk/forums/index.php is very good, there's a fee of around £10 per year, but I reckon you'll find it worth the money. -

Tone dialling or pulse dialing-what is the difference?
BoroughGal replied to Janus's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
I know you used to be able to get round child locks on the old pulse phones by tapping out the number.... -
I love the food at Spinrocs, Crookes. I've eaten at La Tasca twice. I'm not a food snob, but it's dreadful. It's not authentic, it (prob due to it being a chain) tastes frozen/warmed up and greasy, and there's not much of an atmosphere.

Yeah, I do. I like the old simian thing. Have you downloaded his cover of Billie Jean yet? Very similar.

If you were genuinely interested in the answer, wouldn't you Google it rather than asking on Sheffield Forum?

The ones on the M1 are floodlit at night, presumably so the camera can read your registration without the use of night vision etc,

Help! We're being invaded by wasps!
BoroughGal replied to PlainJane's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I bought a wasp trap from Aldi (yeah yeah, I know) the other day - it has a hole in the bottom where they fly in (it's on legs) and a resovoir where you put sweet liquid (cider etc). We had it out for about 4 days and counted 90 odd dead wasps in it. Result. The trap was around a £fiver. -
Personally, I'm sure only 'chavs' would be so crass as to resort to unprovoked name calling.

Jim - sorry I missed your reply (had an early night so I could get up!). We went to Doncaster Racecourse, saw that it'd moved to the Football ground, queued for ages, then got turned away (from about 10 cars in front of us) - very disappointing after we'd packed up the car and got up at 0430 hrs! Anyway, we were going to try Marsh Lane, but realised we'd be too late for that - so we ended up at Paces after all. We didn't do as well as we'd hoped, but at least we got rid of most of the stuff - our garage is now far tidier. Cheers for the info!

I know this is an old post, and apologies if this has already been answered (can't read 1000 posts!) but can anyone tell me more about this? Is it still going every Sunday? Is it a big one/quite a lot of people going (ie good for selling)? What time do you have to be there for? Do you need to book or just turn up? If it's indoors, where do your cars go (do you have to lug all your gear from one place to another)? I'm looking to do a car boot tomorrow and want the best one (for making money) possible, don't mind travelling, but could do with some advice if anyone can help? Thanks a lot.
