Oooh I'm very impressed, all this knowledge at such a late hour! However, I'm still no wiser as to how to gauge how far away the storm is..... is it 1 second per mile, 'cos I'm doubting that.... Martin'll know though, by all accounts.....?

I know there's some dead clever people on here, so here's my question.... When I was younger, you used to count the seconds between the lightning flash and the thunder, and however many seconds it was, was how many miles away the storm was. I now think this may have been rubbish!!! So, is there anyone that knows the difference between the speed of light and the speed of sound, and how many seconds you would have to count to equate a mile?? And just tell me if I'm a boring loser for wanting to know. In fact, don't please...

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) will (in the case of repeat offenders) generally request either bail with conditions, or a remand in custody. However, their defence solicitor will fight against it, for unconditional bail etc. The magistrate or judge will make that decision.

The way he died was fairly horrific though, don't you think...? I think that's part of the reason why people mourn him. Not only did he know for a considerable length of time that he was going to die in a horrific way, but by all accounts it wasn't as quick as you'd imagine either. His family must be mortified thinking about these things. And I agree with some points of view on here - the media love to whip up a frenzy, and the public are more than happy to fulfil this role (ie: Diana's death). But I (privately) ultimately feel really sorry for the family.

My mum now lives on Hawksley Avenue, but at the time she lived on the Sutton Estate, she remembers the blitz - it made her deaf for 3 days! I'm shocked how many things are common to more than just me...! I also hate cotton wool (but even worse - think biting a duffle coat - yak!), hate wrinkly skin out of the bath, and ALWAYS have an overwhelming urge to jump from high places! Most of all, I hate people rubbing their bare feet on carpets.

Do you also remember all the dead fish heads and other miscellaneous rubbish that collected in the bottom end of Hillsborough Pond...? We went canoeing there in the 6 week holidays and if you fell in..... YAK!
