  1. It's all sorted, we are pleased to say! See you tomorrow!
  2. Hi everyone, Sheffield's hospital radio station are doing a roadshow at this weekend's Lowedges Festival, and due to unforseen circumstances, have no way of transporting our equipment to the park this coming Sunday We would very much appreciate anyone who could spare an hour in the morning and again the afternoon to help transport our equipment. Thank you very much. If you are able to help, drop me a message and I will Go over the details. Cheers.
  3. I know exactly what you mean. I'm currently working for HBS Radio, and the amount of people I get requests from don't know how to work the system, or are even aware it exists. You have to dial a number to register before you can even access the free content, such as Hospital Radio. So I spend a good deal of time registering patients. All other staff either don't seem to know, or are unwilling to help them. And also, if a patient moves bed for whatever reason, a quick call to the operator will transfer any costs etc... so you wont loose any money at all. A top for everyone.... press Operator - then immediately *1 to avoid adverts etc... Hope this helps. But yes, HBS Radio is free. The request shows are 12pm - 3pm every weekday. 12pm - 2pm on weekends. *800 to leave a request! Our music library is extensive, and have about 99% of what patients request. The charges for other content is ridiculous really. A real shame.
  4. I mean, I always give up my seat to someone else who needs it... it is just automatic, and the right thing to do in my view. The most annoying thing is when I am stood up myself and people are sat down not willing to offer anyone their seat. You feel a bit powerless. And there is nothing you can do. Some people have no awareness of other people whatsoever. Shame really.
  5. http://www.shu.ac.uk/ all on the website. it says it will offering a limited service tomorrow... but is open best to check the website in the morning. they will update their website at around 7am i think. i suppose the case is if staff can get in or not..
  6. bbc and radio sheffield seem sure as well. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_wed/9226161.stm
  7. that will always be the case due to the sheer number of people it has to ferry around. Sheffield would have no need for trams that arrive every 2 minutes, it would be pointless. I am yet to come across an empty tube train, they are always full and busy! the transport in London is as good as the number of people who use it.
  8. Google earth allows you to view ariel images from previous years, it only goes back to 1999, but more has changed since then, than you might think.
  9. new month, new game, and perhaps some points!
  10. oh yeah, that's right, because no other city in the world has roadworks or pot holes.
  11. Just to let everyone know, I originally created this thread to wish everyone luck, and have a positive conversation for a change, however, it appears to have descended into how easy exams are, and how students have got it easy. Thanks all involved for that!
  12. just to let everyone know, I have done very well, and will be off to university in September. :):)
  13. From someone who is also receiving their A-level Results tomorrow, good luck to everyone tomorrow. Going to be a night of little sleep for me!
