  1. We wish to find a kitten (that we can train rather than an older cat) that we can pick up this week as we have time at home to settle it in. Preferably long haired, not too bothered if its a boy or girl as long as it can be affectionate and good with children (ages 13 and 11). Anyone rescued any kittens lately that need a home?
  2. This is correct. There are children in schools, naturally, who are subject to section 31 of the children's act and may not be identified or located, for reasons of safety. Should parents take pictures and then place them on facebook etc. albeit innocently, then it places those children at great risk of being located and identified. It is complex for the schools to start whittling those children out of photographs while you sit in the audience wanting to take photo's or afterwards, as it then becomes obvious that there is a need to remove a particular child. This could then compound the issue for that child as they are then continually singled out as different or excluded. Much better that the schools take photos and then have the difficult task of deciding which can be released based on their records.
  3. Can anyone help advise me as I'm worried about my cat. She is 18 years old and over the last week or so has lost a lot of weight, hardly eating anything and mainly sleeping all the time apart from when she is peeing in places she shouldn't. She's at the point where movement looks difficult and I've tried to call highfield but the number isn't taking calls. I'm quite worried she's on her last legs and I'm away in Gloucestershire early in the morning....
  4. I know exactly what you mean with your vision issues. It's a little like you don't see the whole picture? I have to say the new combination of medication hasn't changed that for me although it has made my mood improve... I think... I'm not sure if that would have changed anyway had I given things more of a chance. I'm hoping that my body learns to accept the medication and that things feel more normal over time, although I have no thyroid at all so totally rely on synthetics. This combination of therapy does work for some people though. Have you had your T3 levels tested? Ask for a referral to and endocrinologist and discuss it with them. Be prepared for a battle though.
  5. We have had 3 bikes stolen today; A mens rock hopper mountain bike (blue), a "we are the people - JUSTICE" BMX bike (Matt black with red handlebars) http://luxbmx.com/PrebookWTP-Justice-2012-BlackRed-Rear-450.jpg and a girls white and lilac raleigh bike. Please keep an eye out for any being offered for sale, particularly at car boots I guess.
  6. Thanks again for the info. My neighbour has just said that she thinks the white van thief has been caught and detained prior to today as her friend also had a bike stolen and got the same reg.
  7. Thanks both that's really helpful. Are you able to message me the registration?
  8. Anyone else had bikes stolen today? Have the scrap men been around today?
  9. Day 5 into my T4/T3 combination therapy... no fog clearance yet but........ Jeez.....I'm wired!!! Lost my appetite too
  10. Has anyone had any issues with their T4 medication? I can't seem to shake the brain fog and vision issues even though my TSH is now optimal. I'm trying to be supported to try some additional T3 through my GP/Endo.
  11. Can anyone help me find the telephone number of the chantry pub at Woodseats please? Apparently they have a DJ there called Rosco that I'm wanting to book for a birthday party. So either thier number or Rosco's number would be great as the date is looming. HEYLP!
  12. I've managed to find out a little bit of a connection to Hurlfield school but does anyone else know anything about this man. Ask your grandparents!!
  13. I'm looking for anyone who knows information about William Ripper, may be family of William Ripper, knows someone who knew of him etc. for a bit of a research project. He died in 1937 but did some interesting work while alive. Any info much appreciated
  14. Anything handmade to a high quality of craftsmanship will always be far superior. Unfortunately these are rare skills these days and cost a small mortgage to purchase. I know a furniture maker who makes very high quality pieces. It takes him a long time just to source the best materials, and let me tell you... There's no way I can afford to buy from him even at "mates rates". In which case Pondfords is a cheap option.
  15. I think Pondsfords are very competitive in relation to price. I've not yet found another place that sells their brands/manufacturer cheaper. Makes like Duresta, wesley Barell, tetrad etc.
  16. It was the last time I checked. No catches, just interest free and you pay what you want each month over the term. You also set the term with them I think.
  17. My suite is from there and I bought it about 6 years ago. It still looks great and I still love it. I do go and look in there sometimes and I would spend money in there again, and I'm planning to in the near future to kit out another room. The sofa's are very well made. Pondsfords also do interest free credit which given the tat you can buy at extortionate costs from other pay monthy/weekly furniture retailers... I'd advise anyone to go to Pondfords and get a damn site better sofa etc. for the money you waste in 2300% interest on a "faux" leather replica that will most likely fall to bits or be seen outside a block of flats somewhere down the line.
  18. Where did you find that information out? http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7284918&postcount=9
  19. you could look at the new Brantwood school. http://www.rmet.org.uk/brantwood/
  20. I'd be happy to join (although not if it becomes like some of the American forums where people seem to make a disability out of it or full time career out of talking about illness.). I have no thyroid at all after undergoing a total thyroidectomy 3 months ago for a multinodular goitre also with 3 large tumors (5cm, 6cm and 15cm in my chest). All turned out benign thankfully (never had biopsies - was asked and refused as I felt it was prodding around for no reason as they were going to operate anyway) I'm on 150mcg levothyroxine (just reduced from 175mcg's) So now I can breathe again! Currently TSH is too supressed at 0.11 so hoping it will increase with drug reduction and that my brain will function normally again. Taken up running and regular gym visits in order to keep weight off. Not sure i'd say it was like having a tooth removed though Huxley. I'm sure it may be different afterwards if you still have some natural thyroxine running around due to there being part of the gland left though.
