Who wont be at all interested in getting one copy to a customer that isnt via the usual channels, I am afraid. As you say, they are a distributor.

    Sorry for the negativity.

To be positive, the crossword is actually online. Every day - https://metro.co.uk/puzzles/quick-crosswords-online-free-daily-word-puzzle/

I probably have not explained well enough. I was hoping to find somewhere where I could pick one up most days. Not expecting delivery . I rarely go on busses or trams early enough.

Prefer the paper copy, but thanks regardless.

  2. Travel line have told me that there is a news agents that drops the Metro off at the various points.

I'm  rarely on the busses early enough to get the Metro before they have all gone.

I struggle with depression, but I find that doing the Metro crossword lifts the mood.   I'm no boffin, so it is just right for my level.

Does anyone know the name of the agent , so I can go online and try to get the phone number?

On commercial airliners they are actually orange, and not box shaped...

Anyway.... @Janus if you watch the first few seconds of the video I posted in post 8 you will hear that this sub is "unapproved and not certified by any regulatory body", so expecting it to have a "black box" is probably a stretch.

If this incident ends tragically, I can see regulations being enforced.

  4. I think the real contention amongst people is the amount of money that certain trades can and do command. But isn't that supply and demand the reason.

For example if a very large percentage of the population became undertakers would the £££ thousands that funerals cost come down?

Shouldn't the contention against any trade or profession be directed at the disonest individuals ?

The garage mechanics telling the naive customer that their car needs lots of work, that is totally unnecessary.
    https://garagewire.co.uk/news/father-and-sons-jailed-for-conning-motorists/

Or the solicitor firm that duped Doncaster miners for example.

If we look for long enough we would see examples of many other examples of  disonesty in most  trades and professions.

I think the word is Greed.

  5. That is a fair drop from Sheffield road. It is opposite that walkway ramp  from the canal path up  to Meadowhall South tram stop. The undergrowth fortunately probably cusioned the drop somewhat.

I was cycling there yesterday evening. I've never personally  seen so many emergency personnel together at an incident .

    Which apps are you using?

The problem you have is that banks are continually changing apps because of security. You may not need a 64 bit phone now but that may change. No harm in future proofing now.

Virgin money app, I have  deleted it from the phone (security) and put it on the Sam TAB S2,  but even that is limited to Android version 7. A bit safer, but am not  keeping the balance too high until I have a phone with  advised version.

I agree that things can change in the future

Some banking apps now no longer work on phones that only have a 32 bit processor so in terms of future proofing you would need a 64 bit one. It will be in the spec of the phone when you buy it, check before you hand cash over

I didn't know that . Thank you for advising me. I wonder  if the bank has a tech dept that can tell if I need 64bit for their app? The method of contact with that sort of dept is not always obvious.
