  1. I’m planning a trip to Leeds tomorrow (Sat) , on the train. It’s a long time since I’ve been there. I’m just going to have a look around-no particular reason. Does anyone here travel in to Leeds city center on shopping trips, days out? Is there anything that you feel is of particular interest? Do they have a centre equivalent to Doncaster’s Frenchgate centre or Wakefield’s White rose shopping centre? I recall quite some years ago Calendar (news program) did a kind of survey on the popularity of the two cities, comparing Leeds to Sheffield. At the time apparently, they were two cities that were quite comparable in certain ways. I don’t really know how both have changed over the last 10 to 15 years.
  2. In this old thread below, someone posted stating that you are not supposed to go. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=334857 In post number 8 of the above thread someone has provided the 0114 number. If it is still live you could ring them first and ask.
  3. I’ve just been reading on teletext news that medics who are infected with HIV will now be allowed to perform any duties including surgery and dentistry. England’s chief medical officer Sally Davies said, “ It was time to scrap out-dated rules”. I just have this vision of a scenario, an infected dentist performing a difficult extraction-lots of blood, slips with the tools and cuts himself while fingers are still in the patients mouth. Or a surgeon cuts himself with the scalpel during an operation. Even a doc stitching a deep wound and pricking his finger with the needle. Apparently there had been a ban in place. I don’t quite understand what could have changed for something that was considered high risk to the patient to now become ok. Very strange.
  4. I don`t follow you regarding the advertising bit . Can you tell me what you mean there regarding value skimmed milk & advertising? Hi, yes I know the difference between skimmed UHT and the milk with cream in, but thanks anyway. I think you have misunderstood what I said in my OP. The cheaper ingredients was in ref to the suspected reason why value range items are cheaper than branded. Like I said, what can possibly be different? If anything, I would have thought the UHT process would add to the cost. Thanks for ALL the replies. Someone must know. We are all guessing, including me

  6. I think most super markets have a value range. There has to be a reason why the value range is cheaper than the other two groups (own brand & big brand). I guess it will be cheaper ingredients for example. What could possibly be different with skimmed milk? Skimmed milk is skimmed milk. Surely water is not added to it.
  7. Ghozer, There also has to be 2 witnesses to your signature who are not beneficiaries , (and a named executer) who can be a beneficiary if you so choose.
  8. Maybe. Would their existing partner (and I`m sure many punters will have a partner) have anything to do with them seeking sex away from the relationship?
  9. Hmm, I think I understand what you mean there Linda. I have been using hot chilli sauce quite frequently, and food seems to be losing it’s taste without it.
  10. Jam, To actually address your question, let us focus here on the point. I would say the element that is stigmatised is the “paying for sex” bit. The circumstances surrounding prostitutes is an another topic. I can see how this subject can, and probably will go off-topic, and will eventually incur intervention from the mods. By the way, it is not illegal to pay for sex. It is still illegal to solicit for sex, to kerb crawl, and to solicit a prostitute (even on foot).
  11. Electerrific, Interesting question for anyone interested in expanding their interest in ebaying. I used to search around looking on the other countries that eBay caters for. As you highlight, the main issue is the language. Microsoft provide some translation downloads/software. There also seems to be quite a bit of kit out there now to do the translation. Have at look at these. http://transdict.com/download/index.html http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/translator/ This one seems to be a free download http://translation.babylon.com/english/to-japanese/Adci%20ms/ There seems to be quite a lot of stuff in Google results.
  12. There is one item that I buy a lot of from Aldi, that all supermarkets sell. I like the taste and quality. But, (and here is the situation) it’s cheaper at Aldi. So, what happens is I go to buy a load of this item from Aldi and see other items that I usually buy on a regular basis, and these are also cheaper. These does not seem to be a lot of the big brand names on their products, but I don’t buy much processed food at all.( The big brand tea & coffee is sold there though). Recently there has been some Aldi adverts on TV. Is there a bit of a stigma attached to shopping in Aldi? Will they have to make big changes in respect of this, or is their niche the way they do things at present?
  13. OK, What I see: General Text Number Currency Percent Exponential (No idea what that is) Leading zeros Fraction True/false Date Time I have the decimal places set at 5 for numbers. (It does not work if it is set this way for currency either) Anything else I need to check? Anything else to try?
  14. According to Wikipedia there are about 5 different types of duel SIM phones. The description of how the first three on the list work is easy to understand. Below is a description of the last two types . Although the explanation of how these two respective types work is written differently, it appears that they work in the same way. What am I missing? Dual SIM Active (DSA) - allows the device to be connected to both networks at the same time. The device can switch between two calls without dropping either, so while you are on a call you can still receive calls on the other number. These devices need to have two transceivers. Nowadays these phones are not manufactured by the big brand names, because it's said to be hard not to exceed acceptable SAR (Specific absorption rate) levels in a single device. Dual SIM Dual Call/Dual talk - Both SIMs are able to receive calls, once active call on one SIM is established, a call can still be received on the other SIM. If user likes he can switch between two calls without disconnecting any of them. This is mostly used in China. These phones have 2 RFs, 2 SIMs and 2 Modem Stacks. Also known as DSDA (Dual SIM Dual Active), Dual SIM Active or Duos. (LG GX500)
  15. So you don`t have to go in for a sit down meal?
  16. What is carpet padding? I`m guessing you don`t mean underlay?
  17. It is easy enough to change decimal places, but the zero figure on the spreadsheet does not appear if it is the last digit. If the entered figure was 100.01 all 5 digits would appear. But, if the figure was 100.10 only four digits would display because zero is the last digit. (If 100.01 appears like it does in this example, then two decimal places are being recognised).
  18. I already have it set up that way but it still does not appear if 0 is the last digit. I don`t feel now that it is anything to do with the amount of decimal places as it displays with all digits 1 to 9 for example.
  19. Microsoft works spreadsheet. How do I identify the version? How do I change the significant figures? Do you mean the default number of decimal places?
  20. I cannot get zero (0) to display after the decimal point if the “0” is the last digit. For example: If I enter 200.01 that is how it appears If I enter 200.10 it will appear as 200.1 If I enter 200.00 it will appear as 200 I know that 200 is the same amount as 200.00 of course, but is there a way in “options” to get the 0 to appear in the cell?
  21. I’m trying to find a firmer alternative material to foam. It is for a curl bench. I would like to get hold of the same material that is used in public gyms for their equipment. That must be commercial grade whatever it is. Some people place a towel on the padded area to prevent the frame from digging in to the underside of their upper arms. I want to reupholster this part. I have the tools to do it. Anyone know a supplier-even online. I just don’t know what the proper name is for this type of material.
  22. Chez, Is there a "line" somewhere whereby if one uses more than a certain percentage of one`s home for business use, the council will want a slice in respect of business rates?
  23. Orb, I know it may sound obvious, but is putting a cheque in the post an easier option? It saves on time searching around, and probably less stressful. Just a thought.
