  1. At the "basey" beginning of this Chris Rea video, the guitar he is playing seems to have 6 strings (base guitar)? Near the end of the vid at 3min 48 secs he still seems to be playing the same guitar, now playing the thinner strings and with fingers of the left hand further hand along the neck towards the body for the desired notes. The guitar emits a blues type vibe-all very nice, (and reminds me of the music in the Robert Denero film Heat). Is it feasible that it is the same guitar producing such a variation of notes? If so, I thought these notes could only be produced from guitars that were not base guitars.
  2. Stopping people from having an opinion on anything would be like trying to stop people from breathing. Without opinions that people have there would not be this platform that we are communicating on now. As for Cheryl believing that people need to have an opinion, I think it is that they want or like to have one.
  3. I have just been reading about the large tattoo that took 55 hours to perform on Cheryl Cole. Personally my opinion is that she is a very beautiful woman, at least with the make up (and probably good looking without any). For me, that tattoo has took away an element of her beauty now , not enhanced it. http://uk.omg.yahoo.com/gossip/the-juice/cheryl-cole-sang-way-through-55-hour-bum-tattoo-pain-paid-%C2%A314-000-exclusive-134841531.html
  4. Caustic soda has itā€™s uses and is very good for certain purposes. But, personally I would have reservations in respect of the caustic effect on the rubber seals in the traps. It can be very corrosive. Also, (and Iā€™m not sure why this happens), but depending on how caustic soda is mixed it can solidify instead of dissolving and this could potentially block pipes even more so. If you want to risk using it, do make sure it is mixed and dissolved propery prior to applying it to the area.
  5. Iā€™m no longer in my 20s, so this sort of thing does not happen 5 times per day. Iā€™m middle aged, and I woke up this morning around 4am desperately needing to urinate. The problem was rigor mortis had developed in a certain part of my anatomy-and I mean really developed. Now the problem is that rigor is pointing 90 degrees straight out from my body and needs to be at about 45 degrees at least. (Yes, I could have come down stairs and gone in to the garden, but I didnā€™t want to wake myself up too much at such an early time). For any females reading this, in this state rigor can only point to the ceiling no problem, but it is not possible to go downhill beyond the right angle as described above. It is a difficult situation to find oneā€™s self in, and Iā€™m not sure what the solution is, if indeed there is one. However, I welcome sensible and constructive advice from the experienced members relating to the issue. Thanks
  6. I must say Wallbuilder, I`m with you all the way in respect of what you describe and how you deal with things. Too many people won`t put the effort in. I know they should not have to, but if you don`t you invariably end up losing. Keep up the good work. By coincidence, I was going to start a thread on the subject of good and bad customer services, and it seems appropriate to tag on to this one (if thatā€™s ok with you Grenoside). When a company grows to a large size, do you think the customer service declines. It seems that when a company gets to a certain size, call centres are then incorporated in to the system-is this the point where the weak links and cracks will form? Do you find that small businesses often offer the best customer service generally? Are call centres the problem within a business? Presumably costs would increases without them?
  7. First, before taking the trap off, I would get a long handled plunger (the long handle type prevents having to bend as far over if you were plunging a bath). These long ones also help you to get more ā€œpurchaseā€ on the plunging action. I do all mine-kitchen sink, bath and wash basin. At first there is the black stuff that comes up out of the pipe that can then be easily picked up with either kitchen roll or an old cloth. I do mine periodically and it prevents any problems. Make sure you have enough water in the wash basin prior to plunging as it is the force of plunging this water that dislodges the decaying hair etc. If you do need to remove the trap, do be aware that you may need to replace the trap sealing rings, which is very easy to do. Not every plumbing shop stocks them, but tool station does-I just checked the catalogue and there are two different sizes available, 32mm and 38mm. They are 78p for a pack of two, so a bit cheaper than calling the plumber out.
  8. What is/are NSA backdoor lockers:huh:
  9. I`m currently waiting for an engineer (arranged by Talk Talk) to come to my house to fix a (LL) phone issue. I just received a text message letting me know that an engineer has been despatched. There is nothing displayng after the message that shows the number of the sender. How is that done?
  10. I may give it a go next year when my subscripton expires. Below is what Wiki has to say, but it`s not all good as you can see: The product received generally positive reviews praising its user interface, low resource usage and freeware license. It secured AV-TEST certification on October 2009, having demonstrated its ability to eliminate all widely encountered malware. However, it lost the certificate on October 2012, having shown a constant decline in protection and repair scores. In June 2013, MSE achieved the lowest possible protection score, zero. According to a March 2012 report by anti-malware specialist OPSWAT, MSE was the most popular AV product in North America and the second most popular in the world, which has resulted in the appearance of several rogue antivirus programs that try to impersonate it.
  11. Yes, I have malwarebytes. It`s quite good.
  12. Got the Norton disc Andy for under Ā£16 from Ebay (Norton online renewal wanted Ā£39.95-what happened to customer loyalty)?. Loaded it up with the product key and all works fine. I know what the guys are saying about resource hungry and I agree. Other than that issue I feel it works very well in doing what it is supposed to. If you want the ebay seller details let me know.
  13. I think that is as near as we are going to get for a name of said item Taxman. Any ideas where I can get one Roth or Sheff?
  14. I bought a bulk pack of chicken recently from a well-known established butchers. The shop has a great number of customers, and invariably there will be one or two people (sometimes more) waiting to be served when you enter-there is a very fast turnover of the meat in general. I have always found their products to be fresh. The chicken I bought is sold in individual portions/pieces from the same bulk packs, but by buying one of these large packs there is quite a discount. The packs are chilled not frozen, and I bagged it all up in to freezer bags and froze it. I am down to the last one or two pieces now, and although it tastes fine, I was a bit surprised by the country of origin not being the UK. Keeping things in perspective, we get some lamb from New Zealand, and no doubt other cuts of meat from around the world. Providing the meat is of the type that it is supposed to be (i.e. not horse) , then does it matter to you which country it has come from, and if so, why?
  15. Q1. What is the correct name for the wire rack that sits in a grill pan so that the food does not make contact with the fats and juices that run from the food during cooking? I want to get another one so that I have one for fish and one for everything else. The the thing is I don`t know the correct search term for Google or when I ask in a shop. Q2.Can anyone tell me where I will definitely get one without trawling around lots of shops? Thank youoooooooo

  18. Hello Fred. One reason for that type of maths, and also algebra type maths is to exercise the brain. The other reason is to measure the brainā€™s ability. Not dissimilar to why universities have certain requirements in respect of exam grades to be accepted.
  19. I liked him on through the keyhole-very relaxing to listen to. RIP.

  21. I like Norton, although it takes up a lot of memory. My question is, what is the difference between what I will get in the renewal package that is now due from Norton at Ā£39.39 and buying a complete new disc from ebay at Ā£16? (as in the link below). I know that if I pay the Ā£39.99 I will get updates for the next year. Will the discs on eBay only provide virus definitions that I already have on my system? Or, will they be what you might call out of date discs? I`m not sure what is meant when they say in the description upgrade to 2014?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XNorton+anti+virus&_nkw=norton+anti+virus&_sacat=0&_from=R40
  22. According to teletex news, 3 out of 12 ground maintenance staff at Herringthorpe crematorium are facing redundancy. Glendale services (the contractor to Rotherham council) said they were still in talks with the crematorium staff over planned redundancies. The date and duration of the strike action is yet to be decided. I suppose if the action does go ahead, any grave digging will have to be carried out by a skeleton crew.
  23. I can get one/some of these online, but want to buy from a shop Sheff/Roth etc. It is difficult to get the right size from the net. Does anyone know where these are sold for sure? Thanks. http://s367.photobucket.com/user/melvindcuk/media/KGrHqUOKnIE2dBNkvgBN0rn70g0_35.jpg.html
