  1. air in sheffield within the caz isnt illegal as per the guidelines set out by the courts and adopted by the govt.
  2. Shows how well they've advertised it! I think you know the answer to the other question - £12:50 to go watch someone perform tracks like Slut Money, Bald Bitch, Freak and this little charming ditty? Nice to see the company Jeremy keeps and promotes
  3. off topic slightly but are you off to see your almighty leader at the Leadmill shortly?
  4. there isnt a vehicle next to the vehicle on charlesst. there is a gap between the 2 cars shown.
  5. If you read the full news release that you have quoted you will see that they are only asking for the CAZ charge if you pay within 14 days. They are not re-issuing penalties as you are claiming. "Those who have outstanding PCNs will have a new PCN issued but will be given the option to pay just the CAZ charge within 13 days, rather than both the CAZ charge and the PCN charge." Now you will argue the semantics saying "its a penalty charge notice just with a reduced amount". But its that in name only. I wonder what legal basis they are doing the retention on given the rules as laid out by the govt state that the charge should be refunded. SCC could then reissue the PCN/Not a PCN for the CAZ charge. You're right, it can, it should have it didn't, no one bothered checking
  6. 1. you have no evidence of that on the video. No other parking space is shown so your point is moot 2. It doesnt show any spaces at all. However, it does show areas behind the officer where they could have parked and not been on a cycle lane or within 10 feet of a junction 3. There is only one section of Queens St which is disabled. The officer is quoted as saying "its all disabled round here". thats an incorrect statement . If i am to take your point then they shouldnt park in any parking space in town, just in case a blue badge holder wishes to use it. that is your inferrement is it not? If i got that wrong then whats your point 4. As pointed out above, if i parked there i would get a ticket. If i stuck my wheels on the pavement i would definately expect a ticket 5. They could have parked away from where they parked if they had gone over the crossing and parked behind where they are stood. yes it would be on a double yellow line but for the time they would have been there then it wouldnt be on a junction or in a cycle lane would you not agree that would have been a better place to park? In fact just had a look, there is a "Pt 2" to the video. Right at the very start it shows them walking down charles st and you can see a gap in the parking spaces where they could have parked. or even further down Charles st on the left hand side coming up is clear. No defence for this, no matter how much you try to protect it
  7. Thats where i found it. If its incorrect i will quite happily retract it so ill go digging
  8. Maybe not sacked but councils like Leeds are stopping mileage claims for non hybrid cars as soon as 2025 so if she is doing council work as indicated then it would be at their cost.
  9. dont forget its 3% of only 7% of the total emissions in session so council vehicle emissions are 0.21% of Sheffield's emissions aka SFA difference regardless how much you throw at it and what changes you make. This reminds me of when the PTE decided it was going to do its bit for the environment and held a series of meetings (in air conditioned offices) for all the staff on how it could help reduce its carbon footprint by amongst other things reusing the single use plastic cups that the PTE had bought to use in the electrically powered, water chillers it had installed. Someone had actually calculated how much this would save in energy costs. Evidently the person didn't understand the concept of total impact on the situation. Bit like the fake bushes they planted outside under the premise of "environmental wellbeing of staff" - but i digress the emissions from the council building where this was thought up and agreed will be higher itself
  10. its Charles street, straight behind her are parking spaces or on union street she could have parked the vehicle on either road, not on a cycle lane, not within 10 metres of a junction, not on the pavement and not on double yellows. thats not acceptable when there are spaces available within 50 yds or are they going to move the car if they go more than 100 yds away? the excuse of "its all disabled round here" isnt correct either. Charles street directly behind her isnt disabled only. Union street which she is on isnt disabled only on the side of the road she is on. It is on the other side of the road but its evidently quiet so are you suggesting that all the spaces are taken? Even if all the spaces are taken then she could have parked on Charles St not in a cycle lane and away from a junction or on Union st not in a cycle lane and away from a junction.
  11. Very rare fault? According to Tom Hunt "the system had been tested very thoroughly" the entire country knew that the clocks were going forward so why did no one at SCC bother checking or have checks in place at the third party camera system to go. If my phone can automatically update to change the time then why cant a camera system do the same? i forgot - its something controlled and overseen by SCC so not their fault and it was no ones job to check that the cameras had done what it was specified to do and what SCC had paid for.
  12. coming from someone who has worked in parking enforcement im disappointed by your answer. You will know full well that if someone gets a fine but the ticket is incorrect or unclear then the ticket is rejected under appeal. I still cant claim i wasnt parked can I but SCC screwed up in issuing a ticket so its cancelled (i have first hand experience of this as i got a parking ticket in a car park that had 4 different parking rates advertised at the time on Silver street in sheff, appealed with photos and it got thrown out) My bold - the drivers can claim they werent there at the time recorded on the fine. I woudl reference you to this https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/1783/regulation/8/made which is the legislation under which sheffield clean air zone appeals can be made (if you want the trail im happy to post the links from the clean air appeals site taking you to here). Sheffield does not have its own charging rules set out separately so it falls under the national ones in the Road User Charging Schemes 2013 and the subsequent amendment in 2014 Under "representations against a penalty charge notice" section 3G states (g)there has been a procedural impropriety on the part of the charging authority. there evidently is a procedural impropriety as the time stamp is incorrect. Under the amendment to the road charging act (2014) - https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/81/made (abridged version) - if it 3G is proven then "(c)as soon as reasonably practicable refund any sum paid in respect of the penalty charge notice and (if applicable) the road user charge.”
  13. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-66324287 minimum of £250K in fines incorrectly issued 12 days to even notice this This is interesting though and i dont know legally whether the council can do this as its an incorrect payment taken "A spokesperson said for those who had already paid their fine the council would retain the cost of the CAZ charge and refund the outstanding amount."
  14. Here's a suggestion, if you want to see the acts on, go to Hillsborough instead of moaning that its not in sheffield centre if you dont and want to see acts in city centre then go to the fringe events
  15. Warranty's are generally designed to not be worth the paper they are written on. With aircon systems i would check what is exactly covered. I had an issue with a car i bought still in warranty and they only covered the fins which luckily it was the problem but everything else was excluded
  16. Nahhhh, its all a sales tactic. Got quoted a ridiculous price by Boots with all sorts of claims Went and got mine from NHS, work perfectly and tuned to the exact frequencies i am low on. for clarity, just keep them regularly cleaned out as any wax dulls the sound
  17. i would be quite happy if they were blocking the road with the slow walk to warn them 3 times then drive through very very slowly. or if they were sat on the road then superglue the buggers together and disrupt the rest of their day Perfectly happy to do and not ask others to do it for me.
