Bit of a random post this one.. Just wondering if any sf members were ever part of the squadron based at Southey school? Maybe anyone has any stories to share of their time there and if it was the same as when I was a member and had the status of a kind of 'dad's army' division.. Had some good times there

Doesn't really make a difference with block paving anyway, it'll be put back and you probably won't even notice they've been taken up in the first place.. It's when they start digging the new tarmac up it looks an eyesore

They maybe less than 20 years old but that doesn't change the fact that they are in dire need of repair, to me it seems like until now the council have just turned their backs on the place.. Most other areas have had a refurb.. Why not them?

I recently worked on vikinglea estate resurfacing the footpaths, it's true that the area has fallen into a serious state of disrepair but the people who live there are no different than any other council estate community.. Yeah the kids might be a little mischeavious but that's what you get when the council close the youth clubs etc.. There's nothing else to occupy them and as for the poor state of the houses that is all about to change.. Henry boot are starting as of next month on a complet refurb on all of the houses.. I'd honestly say that the place is no different than maybe 75% of places in or around Sheffield.
