  1. It used to be a million dollars prehaps he is getting worried that someone might prove him wrong
  2. Not all, but then in this country of speach everyone is entitled to their own opinion
  3. At the end of the day the medium or psychics fate will be decided by a board of people belonging to the umbrella organisation, but they will be able to speak in their own defence.
  4. You may be surprised to hear that many people will do it just for the ego trip.
  5. Some of what you say I agree with as a medium myself I have been campaigning for many years for tighter regulations. I do believe that the majority of mediums provide a lot of help and comfort but over the years I have heard many tales of vulnerable people being exploited and ripped off for hundreds and sometimes even thousands of pounds. these people are not true mediums they just use the name.
  6. What I am saying is that when the new law is passed if someone has a valid complaint about the service they have received they will be able to get in touch with an umbrella organisation who will investigate the complaint. This will not just apply to readings, this will also apply to items purchased as well. It will basically be a consumers act. At the moment we are still waiting to see what the actual guidelines will be, but it will sift out some of less scrupulous people out there.
  7. My father -in -law is trying to trace a girl he knew in about 1950/51. Her name is Doreen Radley she would have been about 16 then and lived somewhere near the PDSA (RSPCA?) in Attercliffe, the houses are not there now. Apparantly they went out together for a while until he was posted to Malaya with the army. Father- in - law is Leonard Timmins. He has been asking how he can get in touch with certain people from his past Doreen being one of them. If anyone has any information could they please let us know. Thanks Bren
  8. We will all need to address this matter as soon as possible. It does not just affect Mediums and healers but also psychics, therapists, suppliers of any kind of psychic or spiritual services and people who sell spiritual goods, crystals etc. It will also affect mediumship at public events such as paranormal investigations etc. And don't think you are exempt because you don't charge for your services. If you need to know anymore about these legislations, what to do, how to get insurance, disclaimers, etc. Please contact me and I will gladly advise you or point you in the right direction.
  9. Just Google Incubus/Succubus and I am sure you will find lots of info. Some of the stuff I have is private and confidential so I would not publish it here.
  10. Maybe so!!!!!, I can only go by my findings over 45 years and scientific facts surrounding energy. When the law changes the Fraudulent Mediums Act we will all be expected to be able to 'prove' what we get from spirit.
  11. I have experienced a lot of odd things, but I guess, the first time a spirit 'walked' through me or maybe the very strange events that occured over several evenings/nights in autumn 1995, or a visitation from someone who was not dead.
  12. This is only my personal proof. Of course there is scientific fact that everything is made up of atoms and atoms are energy.
  13. Only proof from being able to tell a person things I couldn't possibly know about the object or the person(s) that owned it and having these things confirmed by a third party.
  14. There are some documented cases in which people have had contact with sexually orientated spirits (not always dead people). talk I have full details on this which I am not prepared to discuss on this forum but will talk to individuals if they are experiencing anything similar - just PM or email me It is believed that there are beings called incubi (singular incubus) and succubi (singular succubus) that draw energy from sexual contact with a living being - incubi praying on women and succubi on men. A manitou is a spirit so therefore all things have a spirit or soul or as I send before an energy force.
  15. whoops!!!! sorry I posted this twiice. Shows how passionate I am about the subject Lol!!!
  16. This doen't mean I believe an object to be haunted, but I do believe that something can carry bad energy or ill thoughts/wishes from a previous owner. After all we are all composed of energy as is everything around us, and this energy is what (I believe) we tap into after someone has passed away.
  17. It depends if you are doing this as a hobby or a business really. I think the best possible experience is gained from your own trial and error. I always say 'make sure you really enjoy what you are doing before paying out any large amounts of money'. My own experience was 'hands on' with The Society of Psychical Research, The Institute of Physiological Studies and the Society for the Study of Physiological Patterns many years ago in London for which I only paid an annual membership fee and from doing 'house clearing/investigation for several years. In other words: try a few investigations before deciding whether you need any training. Just be sensible and don't take any unnecessary chances safety wise. Bren
  18. All objects carry a 'life force energy' an essence relating to where they have been in the past and where they are now. This energy can be tapped into and an accurate record of the objects journey can be established from either holding and feeling this object and concentrating on it (Psychometry). This is true of everything animate or inanimate. Buildings, land, people even.
  19. We no longer pay to visit large famous buildings as they charge very high prices so you have to take a lot of people and carry a hefty insurance to cover these people against accident. This means that you cannot carry out an accurate investigation of the building as there are too many people moving about, which defeats the whole purpose of being there. The only time we do these sort of buildings now is if we are invited there for free (as we are on a few occasions). We have been to most of the bigger venues and a lot that Most Haunted have been to but find that many of these are just money making ventures (a real shame). We now concentrate on places that other people have not been to and venues that we are called out to because there have been reports of paranormal activity. We tend to work in small groups 3 - 5 people using a lot of night vision cameras and audio equipment, which we find a lot more productive than having the extra 'bodies'. This is just our preference drawn from our own experiences. You have to decide for yourselves what route you want to take. All the best, Bren
  20. :)Hi Guys!! I wish you every sucess in your venture. You will probably find that you will have to go out and find a few locations to get you started. We still going looking for new sites/venues on a regular basis. We do get quite a lot of people contact us to do investigations in private houses etc. but mainly because we have been going a while now. In fact we have an investigation tonight and one on Tuesday. I am sure that all the other paranormal groups out there will agree with me that if you want to do regular investigations you will have to look for them (there are plenty out there). We have been lucky enough to find a few places where things have happened that we can't explain away to natural causes, I hope you find such a place. All the best and 'happy hunting' .Regards Bren:)
  21. Fair commment. I too think the orbs were probably dust or moisture. I am not sure about the light from the ceiling (which was definately a light as it was seen with the naked eye as well as the camera) or the mist that is why I have left it open for people to decide for themselves. There could be a rational explanation but at the time we couldn't find one. Believe me I am looking for the ultimate proof, either way, so I don't fantasise or get hysterical. I try to keep a clear head and look at things logically.
  22. I totally agree with you that when you go to Spiritualist meetings the messages can be very vague. Some years ago The Institute of Spiritualist Mediums in London tried to improve the quality of platform (spiritualist church rostrum) mediumship and generally speaking they suceeded for a while, but in recent years the standard has dropped again. There are some very good mediums out there. Spirits do come through and tell you much more practical things - usually in private sittings when the vibrational conciousness can safely be raised higher. They will give information such as dates, names, snippets of private information etc. They do not generally tell you when you are going to join them but they will tell you if your health needs some attention. I haven't got a clue what the afterlife is like not having passed on to it yet or even if there is one, maybe one day I will be able to come back and let you know. Its not like the Papa Lazarou sketch on League of Gentleman "George says: 'It's nice here, you'll like it' " I don't expect you to believe me maybe one day you will get the proof you need. I don't even know if I believe that there is a better life to come in the afterlife. I do believe that everything is energy and that energy exists around and within all of us. I believe that the soul is energy and the body is just a shell to house that energy. I believe that we can all of us tap into that energy and 'communicate' with it in one way or another.
  23. Fair comments, but how can you explain being able to tell someone things about a dead relation that you couldn't possibly know and sometimes even the person doesn't know and has to go and ask someone else before confirming that what has been said is true. Yes I do charge for readings which I record onto an audio tape for people to take away with them so that they can refer back to what was said when the event occurs. I always ask if the person is satisfied with the reading I have given and only then does the money exchange hands. I like any other trades person charge for my skills and my time. I like to think I give help, guidance and comfort. I allow people as long as it takes for the reading and do not charge extra if they go over their allotted appointment time as some readers do (no offence guys and gals) in fact someone spent two and a half hours with me the other day. I do not go out of my way to advertise, my clients come by way of recommendation or referral. I don't allow guides to come through during a reading, speaking English or otherwise). What you have to remember is that if a medium does have a spirit talking through them the spirit uses the mediums voice-box so although the tone and pitch of the mediums voice changes (so that you can recognise whether the communicant is male, female, child etc.) it is still the mediums vocal chords that are producing the sound. Also the spirit will speak in a way that the person will understand if the person is of German descent for instance but does not speak a word of German the spirit will speak in the language they are familiar with otherwise they would not be understood. Many years ago I did a reading for someone and their Grandmother came through speaking Chinese, I don't speak the language myself but the client understood every word of it. No one was more shocked than me!!!! I hope this explains things for you. Ask as many questions as you want and I will try to answer them.
  24. Would you consider an aromatherapist or a homeopath to be a witch, totally mad, or fraudulent? Because some witches do almost the same things as these recognised complementary/alternative therapists. I am not saying that everyone that calls themselves a witch is totally above board but the majority are.
