  1. My dog had the same problem and being done solved it. He is so much nicer to be around now :-)
  2. Is anyone up for a walk tomorrow? Meant to be nice and we have had several walks on the North side of Sheffield can anyone suggest a walk with access to water on the South side of Sheffield?
  3. Hi I can help guess I need to be there at about 12 ish to help get organised.
  4. Oh forgot to add I will be getting him scanned at the vets tonight.
  5. I have already posted this in the lost and found, reported to dog warden and put on dog lost just trying to cover all the bases. I found a Staffy cross boxer (I think) in Hillsborough Park. He is a really friendly boy, good on the lead, good condition, neutered, wearing a black studded collar (no tags), he is brown with a white stripe on his head and three white toes, only young and great with other dogs (he gets on with Max!). Someone must be missing this gorgeous boy. PM me if you are. I have attached pictures on the lost and found post (don't know how to here!!) just so you can see how lovely he is.
  6. Hi I can help man the stall and make stinky dog treats if I can find a receipe. If someone has a receipe can they be made in advance and frozen (I have plenty of freezer space)? I can also make a cheesecake or 2 for the cake stall (obviuosly after I have made the stinky dog treats). I have a small camping barbecue never used that can go in the tombola.
  7. The small patch of ground broken happened in the thunder storm on Saturday evening about 6pm. Water started gushing out of the man hole next to the patch of ground to a height of 2-3 feet. When the water susided the ground had lifted about a foot. Was quite impressive to watch whilst sheltering under the bridge. Though quite scary that a road should lift in this way after what was only a short storm!
  8. Does anyone need directions or do we all know where it is this time? Don't want to leave anyone out (or leave them behind)
  9. OK decision its meant to be sunny and warm on Saturday so we need somewhere with shade and water. So the woods would be good, and of the two woods walks we have done Greno was the best (for those of us who found it ) so I would suggest we go back here, and I will put step by step directions up. If anyone knows of other woods that have rivers in are good for walking dogs feel free to make a suggestion. P.S Rob 10am is quite early enough at the weekend
  10. Hi Rob I am about this weekend so up for a walk (don't know if mummysaz is working). Becks37, Evei, Diamond123 and everyone else who has come or shown an interest in these walks where shall we go????? I am thinking we should keep it at 10am so if its hot the dogs don't melt!!!
  11. Hope Hugo gets better soon. Max sends DDB sloppy kisses for him xxxx
  12. I am sorry people got lost this weekend bit like me a few weeks before, but at least I had someone in the car to shout at (Sarah)!!! Becks no one really makes the decisions people have been making suggestions and then it has just been sort of happening!!! I am away this weekend so I have no suggestions unless anyone wants to join me and Max on Felixstowe beach its only a 3 and half hour drive!!!
  13. I got an inflatable one £2.99 from wilkinson and it stands up to Max jumping in it. Last years one only had to be replaced because I didn't take it in!! Saying that my brother (who has more money than sense) has brought his dogs their own swimming pool (8m wide and 1.4m deep). He always has to go one better :-), and they already have their own river at the bottom of his garden. They really are pampered poochs!!
  14. If its as hot as it is today I'll go in!!! Will see you all tomorrow I hope Max manages to walk round the heat really gets to him. This morning in the park he was darting from shade to shade and when he had to walk in the sun he flat out refused and laid in the shade. I had to put his lead on as there was no way to get home without going in the sun!! I will wet him down before we leave tomorrow as a precaution and get his paddling pool ready for when we return. He is a pampered pooch!!
  15. Sorry to here that Frankenstein is getting a wee bit moody but I am sure its nothing to worry about. Max does this to me if we are on the couch together dozing, and I move. He is just grumble gutsing (that's my technical term for it ) I have always just ignored him and moved anyway not got bitten yet. He will turn his head towards me sometimes and nudge me with it but he is just after more room i.e. 90% of the couch for him 10% for me!! If Mimi isn't reacting she must know there is nothing to react to its just Frankie having a harmless grumble. Also Max's growl in this situation isn't the same as when he is angry. Have you heard Frankenstein growl in anger, was it the same? I have no idea about shaking the cat except that our yorkies used to do this to each other when playing and never hurt each other. If he hurts the cat I am sure she will let him know about it and he won't make the same mistake twice!! I think you need to come on another walk and show Franenstein that plenty of other dogs will take Mimi off him if he doesn't treat her right !!!
  16. Soupie its OK Max will take her under his wing he loves puppies:-) Are we going to Greno woods this week and if so what day suits people best Sat or Sun? Is it OK if we meet at 10am whatever day as its going to be warm/hot so can't walk Max in the middle of the day? Dogs with squashed faces don't do well in the heat.
  17. Greno woods sound great but can we stick to the larger paths as Sarah needs to be able to get the pushchair through!! Are we going to meet Saturday or Sunday this week, I am easy either way just noticed that a Sunday meet has been siggested.
  18. Its OK mummysaz's chauffeur is back so we can go anywhere anyone wants to!! My only request would be that where ever we go isn't too busy as unfortunately Max has a face only a mother can love, and as most strangers are scared of him if its busy I can't let him off!! The Facebook page is a greatidea might be able to organise outings to the seaside etc if people would be up to it.
  19. Hi Just bumping this up so hopefully a place to walk can be agreed even though I am probably not going to be around this weekend as I have been banished to London by work (don't worry Max is on holiday at the sea side being spoilt rotten!!!) there is a chance that I may finish tomorrow and be back Friday (it depends how quickly we can lose ). So if you decide on a place to walk there is a slim chance I may be able to join you and drag Sarah along if she isn't working or off out!!! My fingers are crossed that I will be back as I have really been enjoying these walks. Everyone is friendly and doesn't stress when the dogs act like dogs. I think Max has learnt a lot of doggy manners from going on these walks (still waiting on him learning how to swim!!!) even if the girls don't like playing with him!!!
  20. Hi I am probably not going to be aqround this weekend as I have been banished to London by work (don't worry Max is on holiday at the sea side being spoilt rotten!!!) there is a chance that I may finish tomorrow a
  21. Are we meeting at the vistor centre (as I have found directions to that!!)
  22. Can't come again next weekend with flyball commitments but I's like to suggest 10am Shirebrook Valley for Saturday 8th (weekend after). Lots of trails, water and woodland for the dogs to play in. Hi Becks Are we still meeting tomorrow at 10am and if so can you give me a clue where this is? Max is looking forward to it especially as he is then off to my parents for a week and all the loca dogs there are scared of him (well their owners are scared so won't let their dogs play with him!) Hopefully others will join us tomorrow (Sarah and her dogs should be coming).
  23. Hi You are not butting in the more the merrier Re the muzzle its really up to you, so far the dogs have all been fine (even ones known for being a little bit over keen, like my Max) but I don't want to jinx anything Hope to see you and lots of new faces tomorrow. Sallylizzie - sorry to hear about your week have a large glass of wine on me and we will see you next week. Em
  24. Planning to meet at 10 am in Beeley Woods car park on Saturday for anyone who wants to join us. Beeley Woods run between Hillsborough and Outerbridge. The easiest way of getting there is to come along Pennistone Road (heading out towards Grenoside), past the Sheffield Wednesday Ground, go across the roundabout and then take the first left (think its signposted the Niagra Sports Club and it is just after the roundabout and before the traffic lights), follow the road round and at the end turn left, go past Fletchers and follow the road right to the end (its quite a long road and turns into more of a country road as you near the woods) where you will find a small carpark which is where we are meeting at 10am.
