  1. I'm still stopped - it'll be 4 years this January
  2. If it was only the nicotine that I was worried about I would probably still be smoking. For me it was all the other cr@p that gets put into cigarettes that bothered me. Keep it up everyone xxxx
  3. Minna - in UK we can only get Champix on prescription due to the fact it is a seriously heavy duty drug than can mess with your brain. You've only got to read the side effects suffered by some on here to understand that. Not only would I not reccomend taking Chamoix with any other drug (I've no idea what Seroxat is/does tbh), I wouldn't take it without medical advice. Just my opinion of course - others may disagree.
  4. Glowster Boy - I remember you. Sorry you've not been well but HUGE congratulations on reaching the 6 month milestone. Jabber - bless you, you deserve a medal for your persistance! x
  5. I've just passed my 3 year anniversary. I can't imagine myself ever smoking. Well done to all those still stopped and good luck to those going for it x
  6. Aw well you can always try again if you feel you want to
  7. Well done Becky. Each anniversary is a great feeling isn't it? xxxxx
  8. The pills are developed to work as a 12 week course. If you read back through this thread there are people who gave up early only to start smoking again. There are others who stopped early with the pills and had no problems. It's your choice but be aware of the risks. I was very wary about coming off the tablets and having taken them for 11 weeks, I cut down to half a day. After 3 days I kept forgetting to take it so figured my time had come. Im my opinion (and it is just that) you are not being fair on yourself stopping the tablets too early. Good Luck! x
  9. Rothschild - I'm not keen on mints but did find pear drops or cough candy helped. Anything which has a fairly strong taste seems to do the trick
  10. Firstly don't beat yourself up over it. Don't see it that you started smoking again just that you had a little wobble lol. Personally, I would strongly advise AGAINST any kind of NRT. You've been stopped for over 4 months now so are clear of Nicotine. Any NRT is feeding that craving. Speak to your doctor or quit nurse and see if the can offer any advice or let you have some more Champix. Have you any tablets left? The first couple of days that I stopped I got to tea time and gave in. I lit up and it tasted so foul that I put it out again. It didn't stop me doing it again the next day Ever since then I've told myself that the lovely taste and comfort that I crave doesn't exist any more. If I were to light up today then all I would get would be that foul taste which I hated - therefore there is no point in me lighting up. I'm sure it's hard but it would be so sad to lose all your hard work if you did end up giving in to your cravings. Good luck xx
  11. Nice to see some of the "oldies" popping in . I'll have stopped for 2½ years now. I enjoyed smoking and didn't really want to stop. I didn't beleive that I was capable of stopping but with the help of Champix I did. Having smoked for well over 30 years, stopping is one of my proudest acheivments. Good Luck everyone x
  12. Looks like we've got a bit of a reunion going on :partyhat:
