My brother in law IT boff says the following (I'm typing as he speaks!!!) that the MacDonald's server will either issue/assign a session-specific IP address to your laptop each time you use their wifi, or their server's IP address will show up. Either way, the router and server will store the internet session of a particular laptop. Audit trails would identify individual laptops - when they were used, what websites they went on, how long they were on a site, etc. Information can be stored for years. The individual websites will store the information on their servers when pages are uploaded, time/date, IP address, etc. Its all too technical for me. Hope it helps!

I feel another discussion coming on with my brother in law whose an IT whizz!!! - its all beyond me. I wish I knew more about this!

Over the last couple of months my boss has been bombarded with requests from companies offering fuel discounts with loyalty cards, etc. When weighing it all up, you are saving very little money by the looks of it. I collect points at Morrisons and collect the £5 vouchers!

I've just joined this forum after finally mastering blogging, etc. not very good with computers other than Microsoft Office!!!! - much to the dismay of my brother-in-law who is an IT specialist and keeps on at me that I am so behind the times and not taking part in online communication!!!!! Anyway, I've looked at other forums and this one seems to be run very professionally, is deigned well and is easy to use. Obviously it is very popular, covers local interests, helps local people, and thats good enough for me!

Have lived here for many years. I think all this regeneration stuff is great. Old buildings had been left to rot for years. Eating out has greatly improved, the city centre is much more vibrant. The city's character is just moving with the times.
