No - There is now a school and a college and Sheffield Hallam University have taken over Woodbourn Stadium and are now at the EIS and the OLP - The High Street should service the community - and The road is a major Gateway into Shheffield with upwards of 17,000 cars every day passing through - The SEX industry HAS to move on - Stanley St off Nursery Street works very well for the nighttime economy followed by anything else that people may want to do after Hours . Attercliffe can be the Best Urban Village in the UK - Bars restaurants - Sport and leisure Commerce Hotels - its got the lot - it just needs a polish - Sheffield City Council are bereft of Ideas - The woman at the top - Least said for fear of repurcussions - The Attercliffe Action Group are a group of 26 stakeholders all with Pedigree Experience Expertise and enthusiasm and we WILL transform Attercliffe and probably East Sheffield if we are not slow timed stalled or disrupted by SCC policy and Officers

The Attercliffe Action Group have identified a "zone" just behind the Wicker - ATTERCLIFFE CENTRE is changing for better - There is now a school and a college - Attercliffe Centre will NOT be the place for Prostitution anymore -The Brothels will close and the High Street will be a place for shopping and commerce - there will be Huindreds of Houses and there will be World Class Sport and Leisure Facilities within walking distance of the Houses . People in Sheffield - PLEASE stop suggesting Attercliffe centre as a place for the SEX Industry - It absolutely is not

Attercliffe was "Forgotten" by Sheffield City Council after the demise of the Steel Industry and the demolition of Hundreds of houses in the 70s and early 80s - Huge Leisure Facilities were built but "gaps" were left in the landscape - it became a place to drive through ratehr than stop in - THE Sheffield Development Corporation was set up as one of 11 Regional Development corportaions in 1987-1997 to stimulate growth in the East end but Housing wasnt really on the agenda- No hom,es means no potential Votes and the district shopping centre/High Stret died and the shops close down . Cheap rents Low values and no footfall is prime opportunity for the sex trade and Brothels started springing up .It is an ideal environment for "clients " to discreetly go about their B"business" and not be noticed .. The Attercliffe Action Plan sets out to regenerate Attercliffe as an Urban Village and rejuvenate the High St .A new School and College and theOlympic Legacy Park and quality shops and Businesses will probaly see the demise of Brothels in Attercliffe within 5 years

Streetforce have promised to attack the litter problem .They have also suggested a freinds of Sceheme to clean up the canal side . Yo are right about wealth creation I just want the wealth creators in the east end to have a user freindly district where they can work but also enjoy lunch time . the dream would be a total mix use 21st century village and the potential really is there . British Waterways have a masterplan but this needs a bigger wider red line to border the Sports Facilities and lead into the wicker and make the link to Darnall seamless. Woodbourn Road Stadium should be developed around the edge and there should be CPO powers to rebuild Attercliffe Centre .As for the residents ,wouldnt it be nice to have a real mixed bag of young,old ,gay straight ,multiculture ....nice honest decent people . The idea of key worker homes is a terriffic one .The cliffe could be des res for people who want all that Sheffield has to offer but maybe dont quite have the budget.

The Attercliffe Gateway Group has been running for @ 6 years .We were chared By John Mothersole before he became CEO of SCC. Sir Bob Kerslake has moved on to a senior Government Post providing Key Worker housing on Brownfield Sites ,Until the credit crunch came the timing for The Cliffe was perfect .Attercliffe Gateway is too good a project to fail and must be given the green light by Sheffield with help from Yorkshire Forward and the Govt. British Waterways are committed to doing this thing and doing it right . We were contacted several years ago by Kate Flannery of SCC who enquired about a Gay village and Attercliffe does have Historic links but I understand that the conditions and environment were not right . On a personal level i thought that most people would be integrated into the City centre so I did not pursue things .However we are seeing an influx of creative and digital companies and the "offer " for lifestyle gets better by the week .! Very simple now though .If the Gay community would like to come up with a plan ,we are listening and would be delighted to talk . Trust me as well ,I can help make things happen

G did stand for Gateway ,we are trying to create a World Class Arterial route into the City.Spaces buy old buildings and refurbish them into contemporary offices and workspace .The Attercliffe District is a rough diamond and can be fantastic .2 miles to J34 Meadowhall and less than 2 miles to city Centre with Supertram and all those Sports and leisure facilities,and then a canal and a river running through it .British Waterways and Sheffield council are about to launch the masterplan for over 50 acres of mixed use development. spaces sheffield . com will tell more .Thanks for noticing
