  1. My Glow Worm 30cxi is leaking from the right hand side. I can hear a slight hissing sound and can see a fine mist of water towards the back right of the boiler. The blue refill tap is turned off. I have boiler cover but they can't get anyone out until Tuesday. Can anyone tell how I can stop the leak for now as I can't be around all the time until Tuesday to keep emptying the bucket.
  2. You need to have had credit to have a score. Have you ever had a mobile phone contract or been responsible for paying household utility bills?
  3. What is the value of your Claim? Have you sent a formal letter before action yet?
  4. I've slipped and managed to injure my knee and quadriceps muscles. I can no longer bend the injured leg but need to get myself to hospital. I can just about get around if I keep the injured knee in the locked position otherwise the leg just gives way. Does anyone know if I'd likely be able to get in and out of a black cab? Do all black cabs have the same accessibility features? Thank you.
  5. Have you tried Now TV? Each account will let you register 4 devices and watch on 2 at a time. The sports passes usually cost £34 per month but you can regularly find them cheaper on Ebay or Now TV sometimes have £20 per month offers which last for a few months each time.
  6. The soil pipe on the outside of my house is leaking from a joint. Is it a plumber I need to look at this or someone else?
  7. A small black and white cat has been living under a hedge in my garden for about a week. I'm 99% sure it's a female. She has a red collar on so may be lost. I have taken her to be scanned but no microchip was found. The cat is wary of strangers but friendly once she trusts you. She seems well apart from being hungry. I am based on the Wincobank/Meadowhall side of Kimberworth. https://s15.postimg.org/55bd01f8r/Cat.jpg If you recognise the cat please get in touch. Thank you.
  8. Can anyone give me an idea of how much it would cost to supply and fit a diverter valve on a Gloworm 30cxi? Hot water is working but radiators don't heat up although pump can be heard working. I have breakdown cover but there is an excess to pay so not sure whether to use this or get a repair done when having a boiler service and system flushed.
  9. I live in a 3 bedroom 1950s semi. At the moment the internal doors are a hollow, moulded, four panel type. If you're in a bedroom and have the door shut you can still hear enough to understand a conversation going on in the living room which also has its door shut. Is replacing the doors with solid wooded ones likely to make a difference to how well the sound travels? If so is using oak likely to be any better than a well fitted pine door?
  10. This is incorrect, a contract could be verbal and if a price isn't agreed when work is commenced the charges would need to be reasonable. From the information provided by the OP it is not possible to give a definite answer.
  11. Have you got a pic of the other side of the door?
  12. I popped in about an hour ago. No queues. It was pretty empty.
  13. Transfers between suppliers do not happen instantly upon request. If Npower were the previous supplier the switch to EON would not have been done straight away and therefore the meter reading given for the date you moved in would not have been correct for the EON start read. Have you checked what date EON actually took over the supply and what start read they used? There may well be a period between when you moved in and when EON started supplying electricity when you were actually being supplied by Npower under a deemed contract. Where an actual read for the transfer date is not available an industry estimate is used which is agreed between both suppliers. This and the possibility that the previous occupier may not have provided an end read to Npower may mean that your billing is inaccurate. The first thing to do is contact Npower to confirm whether they believe the supply is still live with them and obtain the relevant billing dates and meter readings.
  14. If your car isn't showing on the motor insurers' database and you insist that it is insured the police would contact the alleged insurer to check. They don't just impound your vehicle on the MID result. OP is having a rant over nothing.
  15. Sorry he's not yours Rosa. Does anyone know of a rescue that can take the stray? I can't really keep him here. I adopted a cat six weeks ago, he's still settling in and doesn't like the stray being in the house and gets agitated when he hears the crying outside. I've messaged the RSPCA and Sheffield Cat Shelter but haven't heard anything back yet.
  16. Are you missing a small, black and white, short haired cat? It has 'Felix' type markings. I have a photo but not sure how to post it. The cat is friendly and not aggressive towards other cats. It has been hanging around the upper West Hill area in Kimberworth crying continually all evening. Message me if you know where it belongs. http://s7.postimg.org/b3bvthzyj/20150430_234634_resized.jpg http://s7.postimg.org/r6octb1hn/20150430_235630_resized.jpg http://s7.postimg.org/uz7v91gzv/20150501_211241_resized.jpg http://s7.postimg.org/yy52rv5mz/20150501_232103_resized.jpg I've taken the cat to a vet but it's not micro chipped. The cat is male, hasn't been neutered and looks to be less than a year old.
  17. How much was the premium for the whole year. Did this include any additional cover for keys, legal expenses etc?
  18. Why not just ask the place that valued the watch what effect servicing would have on the valuation?
  19. How much would you be able to sell the vehicle to a dealer for?
  20. Defaulting is a different situation with a totally different outcome as I have explained above.
  21. That isn't exactly how it works, you should be very careful about defaulting and obtain some independent legal advice before deciding what to do with the car. ---------- Post added 16-10-2014 at 07:46 ---------- If he defaults the finance company can claim that he breached the credit agreement allowing them to terminate it and leave him with no car and a large outstanding debt of several thousand pounds.
  22. What type of credit agreement is on the car? If the car is handed back to the finance company they would probably sell it at auction and apply the proceeds against the outstanding debt still leaving the OP with a balance to pay.
  23. Try Nova Electronics in Attercliffe. http://www.nova-electronics.co.uk/ What brand of TV is it and when did the warranty expire?
