  1. Just thought I'd chase up a date on my connection as I'm working from home today and dsl speeds are painful (thanks marmite truck)... My go live date was originally April 2011, that then slipped to Sept/Oct. Then Nov. At the start of this month I was told early Dec. Now just been told no longer included in the rollout... the guy seemed to think they've run out of funding and won't be updating any more cabs. Nice eh Edit: Thanks to OriginB got a bit more info about this. Turns out there's a problem with "Road Adoption" - nothing to do with funding etc. I'm on a newish estate - I bet there's some dispute over who's responsible for digging up the road etc. The estate is still covered by the NHBC agreement for another 2 years - I'm guessing once it moves over to the council it might be a different story. I can hope...
  2. It was 300Gb it's now 500Gb on BT FTTC - they do shaping though at peak on some stuff which is pants. FTTP has no limits atm.
  3. Yeh BT suck as an ISP - but if you're just using them wholesale... I'm sure lots of ISPs will be able to use their FTTC infrastructure soon?
  4. Yep - BT are moving to 17a - they've just been given permission. I think it's something to do with interference with TV/Radio hams etc. Now analogue has switched off they can do it... Not 100% sure tbh but Infinity definitely going from a 40meg product to 80meg. If DR doesn't follow suit surely everyone will just jump over to BT once their cabs are enabled... Also - OriginB - where is the info about your bandwidth/peering?
  5. What kind of pipe and peering do Origin have - does anyone know (i.e. OriginB) ? Also are there plans for DR to expand the frequencies they use like BT plan to do with their FTTC and go to ~80meg?
  6. Any update on the Fair Usage Policy yet?
  7. Same here Although a mate in MK just got accepted for 100meg BT Infinity FTTP which is going up to 300meg next year. Kinda makes FTTC look a bit pants BTW anyone who's already on it how do you find latency? Am I right in thinking FTTC uses heavy interleaving?
  8. Hi, My cab is set to go live on Digital Region next month... and I've seen there's a new DR ISP http://littlebigone.com/ just started up. Anyone on them or had any dealings with them yet? Looking into it they're part of isRightThere. I've read a lot of the discussions on here about DR, and was umming and arring between Ask4 and Origin. Pretty sure both will give great speeds and support. Not sure about the infrastructure, what kind of links/routes they'll use backend. I know Ask4 use PPPoE, not sure what kind of overhead PPPoE would involve - is it going to affect my pings on MW3?

  10. Thanks for all the replies, been ringing round prices vary from £75 for a sprayless patch job upto £500 to respray the whole side of the car. Need to make my mind up who to go with now :-)
  11. Anyone know a decent place for doing car body work around sheff/rotherham? Got up this morning to find a nice deep gouge down the side of my car Got a crease in a door from the supermarket too I wouldn't mind getting done at the same time. Heard bad stories about chipsaway, prices and quality not that hot. Surely there's some good, local, lesser known alternative? Cheers in advance.
  12. What about Joe Bloggs. Made a crap clothes range back in the 90s. Think it's still on the go actually. Edit: Yep still on the go - Cool Threads joebloggsclothing.co.uk
