  1. Thanks very much everyone! Not only have I learned something I've also saved a few quid and a deal of frustration had I had ordered this...
  2. Thanks for that you are spot on and I didn't realise, I'm not the techiest person in the world I'm not bothered about the HD to be honest it's only for a short term fix so VGA to scart or AV would probably be mores sensible. Thanks again
  3. I can pick this up on ebay for a couple of quid - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/130884268563?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&limghlpsr=true&lpid=101&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=101 - but could do with something in the next 24hours and dont really want to pay a small fortune for next day delivery if it can be avoided. Does anyone know anywhere in Sheffield that stocks this at a reasonable price i.e. not the 20 quid currys, maplins etc are likely to charge?
  4. Being a devout Christian should have absoloutley no bearing on this in either a negative or positive predjudice. It makes the impact and circumstances of his death no more or less unpleasant.
  5. Think I'm back up at work in S9 now
  6. Ah so glad I'm not the only one, will stop swearing and fiddling with my network settings now!
  7. Yep seems to be a warehouse or some kind of works between Nursery Street and Derek Doley Way
  8. You live in the 4th/5th biggest city in the UK (depending on which figures you use), you have to expect to come across a fairly diverse and eclectic cross section of modern society. I sometimes get the feeling the good people of Sheffield like to think they live in a small parish town rather than one of the largest cities in the country
  9. Newhall Road Junction, not sure if the road has been closed but traffic starting to tail back
  10. brightside lane is closed travelling towards Sheffield at the hawkes street/forge masters roundabout http://sccplugins.sheffield.gov.uk/utc/cam19.htm
  11. Shouldnt this thread really be titled - more eco-friendly nonsense from typhoo? Morrisons just stock it, unless it's their own brand they aren't responsible for it. In the same way that supermarkets which stocked Findus horse lasagne arent responsible for the product, Findus are....
  12. . Before i get picked up on it, please take the above as the punctuation I clearly forgot to add at the end of my last post.
  13. Fair point and I'm sorry, reading again you make some very valid points, thank you. I did my best not to react to the standard shef forum vitriolic judgements and opinion. Sadly I had been silly enough by then to let them get to me, so by the time I came to your post I had lost my patience and didnt take the time to read it thoroughly and appreciate it
  14. In response to everyone who has formed the opinion that I am just being difficult, obtuse, or awkward for the sake of it, please read my original post - however I object to the fact I have been told rather than asked and just wondered if I have any right to refuse without it being held against me? The key words being "wondered" and "if" - it's currently nothing more than a hypothetical question. I am just curious. For those who took the time to actually read the question, thank you very much for your feedback and opinions. To clarify, a small number of us in one particular team, in a large multinational IT company have been told we are to have individual head shots taken following a change in our operating structure (please note there has not been any contractual change, or changes to my T and Cs). No one else in the office has been requested to do this and we have not been given any reason as to why. I confess I only guessed this is for some kind of corporate website and apologize for not making this clear. To the person who took the time to drag up a 4 year old post in which I also had the temerity to ask a question regarding my employment and my rights - Can I perhaps suggest you may consider relocating to a authoritarian regime overseas? No doubt you will be far more comfortable in this environment, probably enjoying working 16 hours shifts, in cramped conditions, for a pittance of a wage and watching the regular beating endured by those who dare pose a question.
  15. I'm very glad I have a job, at what point did I say I'm not glad to have a job? It was just a question, if anyone else would like to answer it sensibley then thanks very much, if not I will leave you all to squabble amongst yourselves
  16. Does anyone happen to know if my employer can insist they take and use a picture of me against my will. This is not for any kind of security or identity issue, it's for a corporate website. I'm not too bothered either way about them doing it, however I object to the fact I have been told rather than asked and just wondered if I have any right to refuse without it being held against me?
  17. How is the offer being abused? I'm intrigued I would have thought it was pretty black and white?
  18. Abuse as in abusing the offer? Or abuse against drivers?
  19. It's valid on the x78 to and from Meadowhall, I'd say that's out of Sheffield isn't it?
  20. Ridiculous. By this rule a New Yorker should feel shame for 9/11, the people of Zeebrugge should feel shame for the sinking of The Herald of Free Enterprise, or the people of London should feel guilt for the Potters Bar rail crash.
  21. Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times before but I cant find a thread. Could someone please tell me where abouts the 52 heading towards Crooks stops in the town centre? Thanks
  22. Does anyone know when this is opening? I think it's called Ocean, just down from Lidl....
  23. I'm suprised its lasted this long with the concentration of pubs in the area, not exactly my first choice I'd have to say, especially not at 3-3.80ish a pint for generic lager
