  1. They're spending an absolute fortune upgrading mains electricity and switchgear at RHH at the moment, so I'm calling B.S. on this.
  2. I've heard it's The Cosy Club that's taken it over.
  3. I've been to The Scarsdale on quite a number of occasions and yes it gets busy, but never encountered any rowdiness or any other kind of bad behaviour. You get a good mix of young and old and apart from it being very busy at times, it's a great pub to socialise in.
  4. Still there, bit faded and could do with a touch up.
  5. There's a picture of Bill and Ben on the side of a house in Woodhouse, and Weed too.
  6. The best thing to do with bus gates would be to put a standard No Entry sign in place, people take notice of these. Putting an array of multi word signs up is not ideal when you're trying to navigate traffic and are unfamiliar with the area.
  7. Went past yesterday, looked very shut and doesn't look like it has been open for a while.
  8. Congratulations John, magnificent effort.
  9. Just driven from Woodhouse (5.30am) to Jessops and it's quite treacherous. Snowplough was out on the Parkway but as you get nearer town is not quite as bad.
  10. Early Doors, comedy set in a pub in Stockport from about 20 years ago. Craig Cash stars in it and co-writes it. You really forget how smoky pubs used to be, cracking comedy though.
  11. The pint at £2.50 was at The Globe and 500 yards away, but what he doesn't say is that The Globe maybe 500 yards away but you have to navigate a dual carriage way to get there and then when you do you might as well be a mile away because it really is nowhere near the Xmas Market.
  12. Apparently at Beech Hill ( Norfolk Park) there's a tunnel that goes to Manor Castle and I've seen the entrance to this tunnel but can't clarify that it actually goes to the Castle.
  13. Notre Dame school is nowhere near Cavendish Street. The New Bengal was on the corner of West Street and opposite the top of Cavendish Street.
  14. We had them in Woodhouse on our street a few months ago digging trenches on the footpath causing chaos, trenches then filled in nice and neat. Fast forward 4 months and Virgin have now come along and dug the same trenches up again causing chaos. The road now looks like we've had a mud landslide.
  15. Started work again today, but no definite finish date.
  16. Good luck, I've been waiting 20 weeks on a ticket that I queried.
  17. It's even better when they say " cash only" Never have any in my wallet!
