  1. We are a new women's running group in Wincobank, set up by the Brendan Ingle Foundation. Or aim is to meet up, chat & go for a fun run together. Open to all women 18 years & over. Sorry fellas - no men allowed We meet Mondays at 6.15pm outside the basket ball court, opposite St Thomas's church towards the bottom of Newman Road. After a 15 minute warm up we split up into three groups Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for a run/jog. Please ensure you have a Hi -Viz bib or or similar to wear. Footwear - trainers are best. If you don't need to dash straight off afterwards, we gather in the village hall for a hot drink. All the Run Leaders are qualified and licenced through England Athletics (the English arm of British Athletics - the UK Governing Body for athletics). They are also DBS checked every 3 years in line with EA policy and procedures. Come and Join us and see what you can achieve. Please find us on Facebook
  2. Hi, cookingfat50, We've lived on Blackburn Road for 8 years, there are only a handful of houses remaining now. Two on the left, the same side as the railway house but further up where the school/community centre used to be & seven on the right. Four at the side of the railway pub & the other three are where we are after the turning to New road. It probably looks a lot different now to when you lived here, you don't by any chance have any photos of the Methodist church or the houses surrounding it? My Hubby & I have searched the internet & both Sheffield & Rotherham Librarys but we've not been able to find any photos of the area.
  3. Hi there, I do not have the Singer Featherweight but I do have the very old Singer 201K. If you are trying to stop the needle raising & lowering so you can then fill the bobbing. They usually have a smaller cog in the centre of the wheel that raisers the needle, If you loosen this cog it will then stop the needle going up & down so you then can fill the bobbin. Dont forget to tighten it back up when you've done. Hope this helps
  4. Hi nikki Thank you for your reply The dog we found was Brindle, no collar or chip. My lovely Neighbour Lorraine has posted all over Facebook looking for her owners & I posted on here too. I have been informed by the powers of the internet that the little one has now been picked up from the pound & reunited with her family. I'm really glad shes home, she was such an adorable little thing, I couldn't bare the thought of her not being with her loved ones
  5. A female Staffy around 6 years old was found today at 11.30 am in S61 could have wondered from either the Blackburn Estate, Kimberworth or lower Wincobank area. Please contact Sheffield City Council Dog Pound on 07817497995 she will only be kept for ten day & then she will be re-homed. Thank you

  7. Hi, the best place to get sewing patterns is John Lewis in town or Direct Knitting & sewing on Atterclif Road, they don't have as much of a selection as John Lewis but they will order you them in if they don't have them.
  8. Hi Sugarnspice1, I sent you the telephone number for Alan Wharton in a private message when you asked about sewing machine repairs earlier on in the year. Alan repairs all the sewing machines for Direct Knitting & Sewing.
  9. Ah thank you so much Angie, it was really nice to meet you
  10. Hi DeeLish, I just wanted to say thank you again for the fabric x
  11. I there, I would be very interested in your fabric remnants. I will send you a P.M if that's ok Thank you Billiethekim
  12. The old ones do like to make stuff up though lol My Auntie told me (not that I believed a word of it) that Eddy Grant lived in a converted church at High Green lol
  13. Hiya, What are you using it for? Gutterman's do a top stitch thread, it is very strong & won't snap under pressure, my hubby uses it to repair & restore antique rugs.
  14. Hi Lucylocket, I think this is a fantastic idea & I would have loved to sign up to something like this, sadly my boys are too old for the boxes now, they are 22, 20 & 15. I have always encouraged them to be creative & since they were little we have alway made time to stick, glue & make things. Your idea would have saved me hours of trailing the shops for supplies & ideas for our makes & this in turn could have been time spent with my children. My boys still like to be creative now & again but its mainly because they want a bag, pouch or a cover making for their latest gadgets, thay can all use a sewing & embroidery machine & my embroidery software to decorate whatever it is they want to make & if I'm honest they really do look after it alot more than something they have just bought. If you do decide to do this I think it would be a nice idea to have a special box on the childs birthday containing a birthday card from HQ. I wish you all the best with your Craft Rascals Boxes & hope it all goes well. Billie x
  15. Hi Bizzy Beading, Its ok Hun, it was a little short notice. We are no further forward with the sewing group. It would be a good idea if we could find out when everyone is free to meet up. Billie
