  1. Hiya catpus, yes I suppose that's a good idea, she just said to me she'd paid for her house and was taking £25.000 out of it, so maybe she meant equity release. I always thought that was a dangerous road to go down though.
  2. Sorry I've no idea.. try Googling it! ---------- Post added 15-05-2013 at 15:38 ---------- TBH, I'm not sure if its for a house or just to give them their "inheritance" early?
  3. Don't know if there's a good need for it, it just seems kind of selfish to me. It's maybe that at our age we were brought up to work for what we wanted and go without if we couldn't afford things.. Some people seem to think things should come easy today, I just know I wouldn't have taken anything off my old mum and dad.(not that they had owt)
  4. Would you do this to give it to a member of your family. Someone's just told me they've taken a £25,000 mortgage to give to their daughter, this person is in their early 60's they've just paid for their house now they've got to pay it back at their age. I think they're daft as their daughter and partner are both working in decent jobs with one child. Don't know about any of you but I wouldn't have expected my parents to do this, surely it's "their" time now?
  5. Dont know about Wincarnis, but Sanatogen was recommended by the docs at that time.. My hubby dosent need a "justification" to have a drink, ive told him he can have a couple of cans a week...)
  6. My hubby's feeling run down, I suggested a tonic drink and more exercise, can anyone remember what the " Tonic" drinks were called...
  7. I agree, but to actually say this on TV shows the arrogance of those that can pay for private care..
  8. Just watching the news about an elderly man, the consultant said he could have died due to his ruptured Gall Bladder. After he'd rung 111 he waited that long he took himself to the hospital. Some Tory MP called the problems with the service were "teething problems" What an insult!!!!!
  9. Showing me ignorance here, what's that mean?
  10. Thanks folks, may try cleaning the fan first...)
  11. I've got a 5/6 yr old Asus laptop, it's plugged in as the batteries had it.. I was using it today ( on my lap) it started to feel a bit warm, and on the screen it said AC mode then Battery mode. I got a faint whif of burning like electrical smell, unplugged it straight away.. Has it had it, anyone know?..
  12. Thanks for the advice, I did think about a decorating mask and I'm going to make sure all windows and doors are open.. Just have to hope the weathers not bad and our mad little Yorkie doesn't do a runner... ---------- Post added 29-04-2013 at 14:42 ---------- There's every chance you are.. When I first got married, I made sure I did it badly, never been asked to do it since..
  13. My hubby's using eggshell gloss for the first time. Everytime he uses it he gets a sore throat, then when he stops painting it goes away? Trouble is he's got a lot more painting to do! Anyone else get this?
  14. What are you on about dear.. "practice what I preach"... BTW, I've got a blue badge, but I don't park in mother and child bays, because that's the kind of person I am.. As for your childish "muppets" rant..oh dear!
  15. If it was very busy and she was feeling rough, how come she was only 10 mins? Sick of hearing all these lame excuses, I've been pregnant twice, it's not an illness, stop thinking you and yours can do as you want, try thinking of other people for once...
  16. Great for Clark and Partners.. But the scum that pinched it deserve everything bad that's coming to them..
  17. I'm disabled, im on DLA, I can't do any of the things I could do a few years ago, I cant walk very far. Arthiritis is a degenerative, debilitating disease, I'm 65, but feel my life's nearly over. I'm not being morbid, just facing facts...so anyone that's jealous of me can have my life..
  18. Hiya all, we've got a 22 inch flat screen TV that we've brought back from our caravan..(got a bigger one for the van) What I want to know is how do we set it up as a second telly in the bedroom, we've got Sky in the living room? Any advice appreciated, though it will have to be plain and simple, and inexpensive.. Don't mind getting a man in as long as it doesn't cost a lot as we're old codgers.. Thanks!
  19. OMG, just on my way to Curries at Drakehouse Crystal Peaks ti buy a second vacuum for our caravan... Err, no I don't think so, I'll try Argos, never had a problem there yet! Just bought a 32 inch flat screen for the van last week from Curries, cross fingers it's ok.(
  20. Sorry to say this but I don't hold out much hope for you, my 16 yr old grandson has been looking for work for ages, no joy I'm afraid. Pat on your back for showing some initiative by posting on here though..
